Welcome to TPF.

The wallet is fake. Although there are very few pictures, this is an easy call because the wallet isn't a style that Coach has ever made.

Some of us have very strong negative opinions of Listia because although Listia's rules make it seem as though they disallow fakes, they don't remove listings and many, MANY buyers have been scammed with fakes that sellers claim are authentic.

That seller seems to have responded positively to someone who advised her that the wallet was fake although the listing remains active.

Note that in the past (several years ago), Listia had several volunteer experts for various designer labels who kindly offered their expertise to Listia. But instead of being appreciative, Listia kicked those members off, preferring that buyers spend their credits (AKA money) and not be allowed to learn that the got illegal counterfeit goods.

Until Listia makes positive moves in the right direction in removing fakes, I recommend buying and selling on sites that provide a safer marketplace.

In the future, please refer to the first post of the thread for the required posting format and information.
Thank U so much 4 ur time and great advise ! : )

I am looking to see if this Coach Duffle is authentic. I am the current owner and it was given to me by a friend after I had discussed wanting a Coach bag of this size to travel.

Item: Black Signature C Coach Duffle J0R-4245
Here is a listing of a similar item: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=191674430029&globalID=EBAY-US

I included 2 photos of the style number and creed. The bullseye makes me feel like it was purchased at a factory location. But somebody else is telling me the bag is a fake. The zipper pulls are missing so I have been using the hang tag as the pull.

First of all, IGNORE the know-it-alls who tell you something is fake (or real!) unless they can show absolute proof why that's the case. Most people throwing opinions around have absolutely no clue about what makes a Coach real or fake.

Second of all, the bullseye makes it more likely that something's genuine, but we've seen fake bullseyes and we've seen fake bags returned to both full-price and outlet stores and Coach retail partners for credit, and if the fakes weren't spotted they'd end up at the outlets with bullseye stamps. So that stamp should only be used as a possible indicator, not as absolute proof.

Lastly, remember that photos of similar items can help with authentication comparisons, but each item has to be authenticated on its own. Many fakes are close enough to the genuine item that pictures of a similar style can confuse someone into thinking a real one is fake and vice versa.

The bag is a genuine Signature Medium Travel Satchel made in 2000. The similar listing is also genuine.

Nwt Coach Signature Purse #10125 Striped Apricot

HORRIBLE fake!

Since when are any of those colors even remotely close to Apricot? And style number 10125 is one of the most highly faked Coach numbers in history. We NEVER recommend buying that style on any secondary market such as auctions, thrift shops, yard sales, etc because somewhere between a fourth to a third of the bags in circulation with that number are fakes, and sometimes very accurately-copied fakes too. This is actually one of the LESS accurate fakes I've seen.

The seller is also violating Ebay rules by including a Disclaimer Of Authenticity. PLEASE REPORT, EVERYONE!
