I got this at a rural thrift store for $1, talk about deals too good to be true! So I'm fully prepared for it to be fake but it's in such good shape that I'm cautiously hopeful. Lining comes off kinda green but is heavy black canvas, didn't get close ups but zippers are YKK, will gladly provide more pics as needed. Thanks in advance for any opinions you can offer.

I'm sorry but it's fake. The font of the serial number is incorrect for the year and plant in which it claims to have been made.

Whatever you read about zipper brand, it has nothing to do with authenticity.

ETA: In fact, the style bag wasn't even made until 2002 so that it has a 1994 date code, that's a huge red flag.

It's fine, made in 1996.
Thank you. I have a quick follow up question. I noticed that in some Taft bags the mid portion of the bottom looks slightly pebbled, and not smooth like the rest of the bag (like in this listing), and in some it is smooth and matches the leather texture on the other parts of the bag. Is this variation normal and specific to certain production year?

Thank you for the detailed explanation! My limited googling didn't turn up when this style came out, only that mine strongly resembled some of the image results. The bottom was different but I was hoping it really was a 90s model and had just been reinforced at some point. Luckily, it's still pretty well made and super soft! So for $1 I can't complain. I appreciate your expertise and quick response, have a great day!

Hi, I am having a really tough time telling if this is real since it doesn't have a creed or label. Does anyone have advice on how to authenticate the Chunky and Skinny cases? Thank you so much!

Item: Coach Chunky Case Style Number 7165
Where purchased or how obtained: Bought online through Poshmark
Comments: It appears to be a very dark blue color in almost unused condition - just beautiful! It does have a small target mark on the side of the bag which looks similar to the Coach Outlet marking. I've never own one of these, so I have no idea what to look for in terms of authenticating! Any tips are greatly appreciated.
