When you Bump an unanswered post, you need to use the REPLY button in the unanswered post so a link to the post comes up and just type "Bump" in the reply field, then click on POST REPLY.

Here's your original post:

One reason no one has responded is that they may not be able to enlarge your photos. I certainly can't and they're much too small to see the details we need to see. I don't know if the other authenticators are having the same problem.

I'm afraid I bought a fake at a charity thrift store. Please evaluate.

If it is a fake, what is an ethical way to dispose of it? As a generic bag, it has some use--is marking it inside as fake with a permanent marker sufficient? Removal of the pocket with the creed? Or is landfill the only option?

Thanks!

Sorry but you're correct. It's fake.

Several options, depending on what you want to do with it:
1. If donating, cut creed out of pocket (making pocket useless) or completely remove the pocket AND the hangtag
2. If you can use parts (leather, hardware), cut up and use.
3. If you can use the bag and want to keep the pocket, there are a couple of ways to do it:
  • use knife, razor or other sharp utensil to scratch creed or scratch off layer of leather to remove creed
  • use sharpie and scribble to cover creed.
  • If you go the sharpie route, you might want to write on the pocket, "fake - do not sell or donate" in case someone else claims ownership of the bag when you no longer have it.

Others might have more suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions--I've wondered about this issue and am happy to have some direction.
