Comments: the drawstring doesn’t look like a Thompson. I’ve been search on this site for a few hours and I couldn’t find a good match View attachment 5750550View attachment 5750555View attachment 5750557

Both are genuine but we'll probably need measurements if you need them identified.

The drawstring was made in the early 1990s, and the clutch is from some time before 1988, maybe between the very late 1970s to 1988. I flipped the creed photo of the clutch to make it easier to read:

Its turnlock looks almost new and may be a more recent replacement

The first one could be a dinky if the measurements match. Earlier versions of the dinky had removable straps with grommets in the sides of the bag, which made for an awkward attachment. I can't tell from your pictures if there are grommets on the sides.

Regarding the "T" in "completely," IMO, the side-by-side comparison pictures tell the story.

And something that jumped out at me when I first saw the bag that I'm 100% positive is fake but hasn't been mentioned is that it has an upside-down "8" year code. Although I've seen an upside-down 8 in Costa Rican bags, I've NEVER seen it in a US-made bag. And here are some additional comps.

From the start, my opinion was that the bag posted by @JellyHime is fake and the more examples I see, the more sure I am that my original opinion was correct.

@Busykitty , I think the reason the "A" plant came up was because YOU brought it up! Your original post concerning the fake bag was expressing the possibility that the bag in question had a mistake in which Coach transposed the month and plant codes, something that does NOT appear to be the case.
Thank you for everyone who went into detail! I'm still very new to vintage Coach bags so it was very educational. I guess I've only touched obvious fakes in person (ones that say Made in Korea and ones where it felt very thin or pleather-like) so I had no idea that there were such well-made fakes on the market! It's quite shocking really since the leather feels like my other authentic Coach bags but it's great to know there are other signs to watch out for besides the leather, stitching and hardware.

This looks plastic... And it's so cheap... What do you think?

Thanks for all of the help, I'm shopping! Lol
