We don't pay that much attention to stitching. It is the creed number and the font. The first digit is a month code. The only valid letters are A through M. The third digit is a plant code. Although L is a valid plant code, creeds produced by that plant have a unique font, format and alignment, very different from this creed.

Just a quick addition - there are a few genuine vintage Coaches with "N" month codes as the first digit. Most of them are from the Italy plant, but they ALL should be authenticated here as there are many fakes we've found with "Italy" creeds.

Good Day (night)
I purchased this bag at a thrift store and would appreciate if you could authenticate it.
Handle drop is 24", height 6.5", width 10", Depth 2.5"
My apologies if the format of post is incorrect and thank you in advance for your time.

Genuine Medium Cabin Bag from 2001.

I don't think the Lexus luggage tag is original to the bag since it looks like there are TWO luggage tags and the other one just has a Coach logo. Coach did make a Lexus edition for a Canadian Lexus-Coach collaboration in the early 2000s but I don't have any photos of the creed. The earlier US Lexus version from around 1996 included an "L" in the serial number, this one doesn't have that.

If it does have two luggage tags, you may want to remove the Lexus tag before reselling unless you can find any solid proof such as paperwork that it's actually the Lexus edition.

Unless sellers are managing to find Lexus/Coach luggage tags and attaching them to various cabin bags, it looks like the China-made bags (S plant) from 1999-2001 didn't have L after the style number but did have a Lexus luggage tag.

Style 596/0596 from 1999.

Thanks, I didn't have anything at all on a 596.

ETA - and I haven't seen a luggage tag with a different logo on each side before either.

Quick question - remember, I can't open any Ebay photos. Does the seller of the bag in the second (middle) set of photos have the top corners of the bag pushed in? In the gallery photo which is the only one I can see the shape looks more like a gym bag,the entire top looks rounded. The listing title also says it's from 1996, did he maybe make a mistake? Or copy the description from Ebay's blasted "photo library" and get the year wrong? Other 596s look like the 502 Cabin Bags, so is this just another seller who can't read date codes and doesn't know how to take a decent photo?

I'm confuzzled. And I've already had a really big mug of coffee so I can't claim caffeine deprivation.
