And there's a fake wannabe-Court bag in this lot:

And a fake with an "NT" serial number in this lot:

There are probably more fakes but I'm not going through all the listings to find them. I don't recommend this seller!
Thanks so much for all the help! I will definitely stay far away from this seller!

Thanks!

Pls forgive me if I mess up. This is my first post.
I purchased this sling bag at a thrift store today for $50. When I got home I found others of this same style online but they have 9992 on creed, and mine has 0974-534 which research shows is probably fake.
Bag measures 8"W x 13"H x 6.5"D.
I'm afraid I got ripped off but would like your opinion. Thank you!

Thanks!

Both are genuine.

The first one from Poshmark with the 701-6902 number looks like a Swagger, style 9820, not a Sutton Bag.

The second one from Ebay is a 9300 Companion Flap

Please note the "Item May Have Imperfections and/or Odors" in the description. It's always a good idea to ask sellers for more details.

It's authentic. I can't find it in my files. I believe it was made early 2000s. There might be a place of manufacture stamped on the leather in a hidden part.

Hi all,

This is my first post. My apologies if this is not posted correctly. I purchased this red willis bag from @betsyl26 on Poshmark : Willis bag. It was delivered today and I highly suspect it is fake or at least heavily painted and repaired poorly. The bag feels like it has a coating of some moisturizing product on it and does not smell like leather ( correction: the strap smells like leather but the bag does not). The holes drilled into the dowel for the hardware are not even. My first concern before having the bag in my hands was about the creed-which I have never seen so dark but, then again, I have not seen many vintage red bags and have nothing to compare it to. I feel like I answered my own question but would appreciate confirmation and guidance regarding the creed from some seasoned pros. Photos of dowel, alignment of hardware, and dimensions are attached. Thanks in advance for any help!

Please include as good a photo or photos of the creed and serial number as you can take. Those are more useful than measurement photos for authentication. Also please include a photo of the back of the part of the turnlock with the prongs. We need to see how the prongs hold it on. A photo of the top of the handle from above is also useful when authenticating Willis and other top handle styles.

Thank you.

WOW. That was FAST. Thank you.

Your instincts were correct, it's fake.

The creed stamping is completely wrong AND 2 of the 3 production codes in the first part of the serial number are invalid. The "R" in the place of the month code was NEVER used by Coach (month codes in that position, assuming the codes were stamped in the correct order, should never be higher than "M" or very rarely, "N" but NEVER "R"), and the "F" which should be the plant code had been discontinued completely by 2003 (in 1995 to be exact) which is the fake year code in the stamp.

BTW, I should have been clearer about the turnlock. Just for future authentications, this is the part we need to see. Not all fakes will have these indentations but some do:

Hello all,
Item: 7219 multifunction purse
Where purchased or how obtained: I don't remember where I got this. I've had it for quite some time. I am just now rehabbing it now though.
Comments: The hangtag is not original, I know. I added that because I think it's cute. The cartouche is quite light, hard to see.
