Where purchased or how obtained : My previous seller sent some pictures to ask if I wanted this. She wanted to let it go cheaply. I wanted to make sure it is authentic before I purchase this for my daughter.

It's not a dinky. It was made in 2012 as part of the legacy collection. I believe it was called a Penny.

  Comments: Is this bag authentic? It seems like is but then there's a few signs it might not be, the craftsmanship by the buckles & the strap has silver-tone rivets instead of brass. The creed seems legit but hard to read serial; I think it says 53D-5960 ??
• Zip top closure with interior pocket flap
• Has YKK zipper with stoppers at both sides
• buckles are marked solid brass

The brand of zipper has absolutely NOTHING to do with authenticity. Wherever you read or heard that old nonsense, ignore it, it's NOT true and never was. Read my Signature under all my posts.

Depending on the year a genuine Coach was made a "solid brass" stamp on the buckles also does NOTHING to prove authenticity and can often prove just the opposite. In this case it's additional proof along with the serial number that it's fake.

The serial number is almost impossible to read but definitely looks wrong, including the serial prefix AND the style number which if it's -9060 isn't even correct for the bag. That's the primary proof.

Take it back and insist on a full refund. And don't EVER depend on zippers.

I don't understand what you mean by a misprint on the serial number? I'm not seeing any problems, the bag is genuine and was made in 1995.

No, it's not a problem and is something that often happened when vintage Coach bags were being stamped. It's even been found in some fakes. We call it "overstamping".

WAIT FOR ANOTHER OPINION, but I've NEVER seen genuine Coach leather crack like that. I don't think it's real, the "leather' is probably vinyl.
