Hi, authenticators- could you let me know if I’ve got a real one here:
From Goodwill:
Creed number says it’s made in Costa Rico, creed # is F2P-9525. I don’t see any red flags but I know I’ll have to pay relatively a lot to get it, so I’d better check to be sure it’s OK!

Thanks for all you do to help us!

Lucy

Genuine, although technically it won't be "vintage" until June of this year since it was made in June 2002. Twenty years is the minimum for the "vintage" designation.

Can anyone tell be if this bag on eBay is authentic? Thank you!

Comments: That is not a Coach Creed inside the bag, so I don’t see how this can be authentic. I’m pretty familiar with the 65th Anniversary bags and have never seen this one, but I thought I’d check because it’s a cute little thing. The price isn’t so cute, though!

Thanks for your help everyone!

Not all Coaches have creeds or serial numbers. Many smaller bags sold as Accessories, Demis, Crossbodies, Clutches and various other designations indicating a "small" bag won't have one or sometimes both of those details depending on the size of the bag.

But since we don't have any solid details in the seller's photos to prove it's genuine, there's no way I'm prepared to give an opinion. The lining and plain logo Coach patch inside match genuine Coach items but have also been found in fakes so I'd say "probably OK" but that's not an authentication. If you're not comfortable taking a chance, keep looking.

Other opinions are welcome.

Something to keep in mind too is just because it has the stripe lining doesn't necessarily mean it's from the 65th Anniversary collection. Coach continued to use that lining and even the oversize turnlock for several years after 2006, and I've seen a few similar clutches from the slightly later Madison collection with the same design features. But my photo files are in NO way complete.

Considering that the bag is more than 40 years old, some wear and tear is to be expected. Slight variations in stitching or even placement don't prove that a Coach is fake, they were handmade and variations happened.

Please feel free to ask the other authenticators, @BeenBurned and @whateve, for their opinons. @whateve especially has a vast amount of experience rehabbing vintage Coaches and may be able to answer several of your questions.
@Hyacinth thank you for your response.
@whateve do you mind giving your perspective or thoughts on the matter of the vintage black Bonnie Cashin Kisslock bag?
I value your input. Thank you!

Hi! Can one of you lovelies please authenticate? Thank you!

Comments: Hi I just posted this last night and my bag finally came today. And I have some close up pictures. Just want to re-verify if that’s not a problem.
I have some concerns about the stitching in certain areas and how the leather folds over or creases on the front and back seams on top. Could it just be regular wear and tear?
Also, the hardware on the front pocket is a little crooked but I think this could be fixed? Maybe that’s why the stitching looks off.
Help please. Thank you.
I have one from the same era. Most of it looks the same. Mine has a different zipper pull, but your zipper pull is one they also used. Mine doesn't have any of the folding around the pocket corners like yours. The craftsman may have been having an off day. I'm not surprised the pocket hardware is crooked. That happened with handmade items. One of my authentic bags has a very crooked patch pocket. I don't know how it could be fixed or if it would be difficult.

I think it is authentic. In the 65th anniversary catalog, a striped version is called Madison stripe flap so I imagine it would be called Madison leather flap.
