There are no carved in stone schedules for how long a style stays in production, it depends almost completely on how well the item sells. I've seen some styles disappear after only a few months, and others chug on for years or even decades although most of the time they're discontinued for a few years, brought back for a year or two, discontinued again, brought back again, etc. Every style's history is different. Some popular Coach styles have been re-introduced at least 3 or 4 times.


My records on the 9755 Pocket Purse show a 1989 introduction, discontinued or at least disappeared briefly from the catalogs in 1993, popped back up in 1994, disappeared from the catalogs again, popped up AGAIN in 1995, and reappeared off and on until around 2003. Like I said, there's no schedule, it's whatever the market will bear. As for "collections", the Pocket Purse like most standard smooth leather styles, was considered part of the very large and very permanent Classics Collection and the "Classics" have been available in various versions for most of Coach's history, at least until recently, which means until the last 10 years or so.

Remember, NO RULES. The first thing you need to learn is our Coach Mantra - "The most consistent thing about Coach is their inconsistency". Repeat that every night before you go to sleep.

Sorry, it's fake. Coach hasn't used an "F" plant code since 1995, and it definitely wasn't used in 2002. Even in 1994 and 1995 it was only used to make briefcases and had a very distinctive "Times New Roman"-type font no other plant used in the serial number. Also, the back of the turnlock plate has indentations for the prongs, which genuine vintage Coaches in original condition never had.

They were usually called "Skinny Wallets" and Coach made a lot of wallets in that embossed Op Art pattern. It looks good to me, probably from around 2008-2010 but I can't see the actual listing.
