Good morning Authenticators.

Ebay took down a listing of mine claiming it was counterfeit. I've had this bag since 2003.. It was a gift from my ex husband that I don't use nor want. We lived in Park City, UT where there was an outlet store so of course (I assume) he would have bought it there. I'm wavering between embarrassed and ticked off. Will you authenticate this please?

I'm just getting a "page not found"
Thank you, Hyacinth! The link still works for me so that's strange. Anyways, I'll attach the screen shot of the pictures listed. It is now sold out but I'm still curious whether this was green or flannel gray.. Was advertised as green.

Thank you!

Thanks for the photos!

I'm not seeing even a hint of green in those photos. We usually recommend using the photo of the inside and creed as the most accurate example of the actual color since that area hardly ever shows fading but it just looks gray to me.

The problem is that it isn't one of the original Stewardesses, it was made in August 1995 and may have been a limited production run for the holiday season, but there's NO gray color listed in the 1995 Fall or Winter catalogs, and the only green color available in the second half of 1995 is Bottle Green. There are just too many things that can change what a color looks like on someone's computer to even try to guess what it is and without any help from the catalogs, I won't even try to guess the color. The bag itself is genuine.

I'm going to flag @BeenBurned to hopefully advise you on how to handle this since she's an expert on helping with listings removed without cause. The important thing is to NOT relist the bag until you receive written confirmation through an Ebay Email that it's OK to do so. It would also help if you could post a copy of the removal notice so she can see why Ebay actually removed the listing.

It's an absolutely 100 percent genuine Companion Flap made in Coach's Costa Rica plant in May of 2002. There isn't a thing wrong with it, and anyone who may have reported it to Ebay as counterfeit is either a completely brainless MORON or someone filing a fake report to cause problems for you.

Thank you Hyacinth! I feel the reporting was done by the latter. I have an idea or two.

Here is a C&P of the email I received from eBay:
e had to remove your listing because it didn’t follow our Counterfeit item policy. We don’t allow counterfeit items, replicas, or unauthorized copies.
What activity didn't follow the policy
- Limited selling history
What you need to do next
Items removed for this policy cannot be relisted. Please ensure that your future listings are for authentic items only. For these items, they should be described accurately and completely, so buyers know that it is an authentic item.
What is the policy
- Counterfeit products are illegal and not allowed on eBay. Examples include:
-- Fakes, copies or replicas of brand name items (for example, a shoe with the Nike name or logo that wasn’t made by Nike)
-- Electronics or accessories that use or bear the brand name, logo or trademark of a company that didn’t manufacture the item
-- Bootleg recordings from concerts or other live shows
-- Unauthorized or pirated copies of movies, videos or software
- Listings with photos that hide or blur trademarks are not allowed
- If you’re not certain that your item is authentic, or if an authenticator has been unable to confirm its authenticity, it may not be listed
- We may remove listings if we receive buyer complaints that the item is not authentic. These items may not be relisted
How this affects your account
Because you may not have been aware of this policy, we're sending this notice to educate you about it and ask that you follow this policy in the future.

- Listings that didn't follow this policy have been ended.
- We have credited all associated fees except for payments processing fees and the final value fee for your listing(s).

Listings that don't follow this policy in the future will be ended.
Why we have this policy

This policy prevents the sale of counterfeit items, which are illegal, and could expose sellers to legal risk. Removing them protects sellers and their buyers from buyer protection claims and financial loss.

The bag looks green on my monitor. Interesting!

That's what I mean about colors looking different. And a lot of the brown bags listed on Ebay end up looking like purple to me.

Bottle green was a standard color for 1995.
I am on a little break from work here. There are two pics on the website not reposted, of the side and strap. On my iPad they make the best case for green leaning either toward olive or loden.
