IMPORTANT READ-ME

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread. No PMs please.
For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

If you read my posts, you'll see that I avoid authenticating Poshmark listings and I strongly recommend against doing business there because of both Poshmark's lack of positive action taken on reports of fraud and fakes but also because many sellers who either sell or mix fakes go there to unload their fakes.

Personally, my experience has been that Ebay, Mercari and Bonanza are safer for both honest buyers and sellers, are responsive and take action on fakes and as well, have better protection for buyers who have problems with purchases and sellers.

For the listing you've asked about, I don't see any red flags but I'd like to see a clearer and more legible picture of the creed as well as the made in label.

Again, if this is a bag you can get somewhere else, I recommend doing that. (I realize it hurts honest sellers but there have been way too many problems for me to feel comfortable recommending the site to buyers who aren't able to verify their purchases.)

Note that I still may continue to ignore requests for authentications of PM listings. (This isn't something new for me. Others may choose to authenticate for the site but I usually choose not to do so.)
Thank you. I will take that in to consideration and I appreciate your feedback.

Hello again! I have another authentication request...
Item: 70s Vintage Coach Slouchy Leather Crossbody Bag
Seller and site: msjenalou on Poshmark
Link: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/authenticate-this-coach-see-first-post-for-format.889527/

As always, any additional information would be greatly appreciated (if it is authentic) . Thank you in advance!
Your post doesn't have the link to the listing but since Poshmark is so lax in enforcing the law and since msjenalou sells so many fakes, I won't comment or recommend her.

As I said in this post from about a week ago, one of the reasons we want seller IDs (which you did include) in requests is so the seller and history is searchable.

And here's my previous post from just a couple of weeks before that one specifically discussing this seller, msjenalou:

If one of the other authenticators wants to comment on the listing, here it is:

Listing: VTG Coach Small Leather Clutch
Item: Check out Vintage Coach
Site: Mercari
Seller: Cmitch5636

I've already purchased this bag and just want to see if it's authentic. It feels authentic, but I'm a newbie so have no clue. It reeks of smoke so I'm ready to dunk it and give her a good cleaning. Your help is much appreciated.❤❤❤

It's authentic and from the early or middle 1980s, but it's hard to tell what style it is, probably a Basic Bag, style number 9455.

The purse on Poshmark is genuine.

A friend of mine found a bag thrifting at the Salvation Army here in NZ...she would love to know if it's real. ....so may I have this authenticated for her.
The black bag is a Deadly ponies bag...but for the life of me I'm drawing a blank on the Coach
