Hi Authenticators,
This is my first purchase from shopsalvationarmy and I'm very happy with their service so far. They reply to emails right away and shipping was fast. Now, I would love your opinion on the bag. I found one at my local gw a while ago but it was ripped by the zipper so I've been looking for another one ever since. *fingers are crossed.
Ps. It doesn't have a creed but I took a picture of the made in tag. I appreciate any help. Thank you!

Hello - this is my first post and request. I am having a hard time with this one as it's coming up mostly a Mini Bag 9825 but I have found very few with "Made in New York City" and I can't reference the style. It feels real (Yes, I now own it) but the stitching on the interior pocket where the turn lock is installed is a little crooked. Any info or verification is much appreciated.

It's a 9825 Mini Bag. The Made in NYC creed is not that unusual and is still within a year of when almost all of those original creeds had been replaced. The style was already in production by the end of 1988 and appears in the Holiday 1988 book but was probably officially intro'd in Fall 1988 according to the few old catalogs that I have. I've seen one or two others that were probably made in 1988 a few months after the NYC stamp was "officially" discontinued, it's nothing to worry about. Coach didn't make their changes exactly on the first day of the year or the month. They were also in the middle of opening several new plants and may have put an old creed stamp back into use until new ones could be made for the new plants.

Thank you so much! I've learned so much from you just these past few weeks and this will help me even more.

Hello,

Please authenticate this bag. I picked it up at my local Goodwill. I know very little about newer Coach bags. However, this is a pretty color.
Thank you.

Can someone authenticate this for me? The magnetic clasp and zippers made me think it was not authentic, but I wasn’t sure.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm guessing it's a fairly small bag? I don't have anything in my files for that exact style, but 25167 is a larger bag with similar details but a different handle and strap configuration, and that one is a Madison Sadie Flap Spectator Satchel so this one is probably from the same family but in a slightly different size and body style. This may be your bag's Big Sister:

I'll keep looking and try to find it.

ETA - Got it! Actually found a seller who shows the actual price tag. Madison Leather Small Madeline or Madeleine, not sure of the spelling.

It's completely authentic, and there's nothing wrong with the mag snap or the zippers although I'm surprised there's no stamping on the snap. Still, 1996 was early days for Coach's first Chinese plant and maybe they were buying pieces locally.

(Please remember in future requests to include the link to, and URL of, the listing if it's a recent or potential purchase.)

Double Compartment Carry On made in 1996.

Thank you. I have been checking and it is the Madeleine - the smaller version. There was an article published on purse blog regarding 2013 bags.
See pics # 8 14 19 and 20.

I think I have a Madison. See below. Coach Madison.jpg

Coach has re-used the Madison name since at least 1993 and for dozens of different styles. I don't remember any bag being called just a Madison, and don't know which one of the dozens of Madison family members that one is. It looks nice though. And expensive, especially if that's real snakeskin.

Searching Ebay for "Coach madison" brings up over 4200 listings.

Good Afternoon! I picked up this cute little green second hand purse, super small with a black made in China tag and no creed. It’s about 9” by 5”. Yay or nay?

Madisons everywhere. As always, a very informative conversation. Have a good evening.

Definitely authentic but I don't have any more information. My guess would be that it's from roughly between 2008 and 2012 but that might be way off. Maybe someone else can ID it, or you can ask at the main Coach forum in the ID thread.
