Hi all,

For the life of me, I can’t make out the color of this bag. Is it brown, grey, greige? Plus I’m not sure if it’s a real Coach or not - the leather looks plastic-y & the pictures aren’t great The eBay item # is 154409660519. Is this an authentic Willis?
Thanks!

Be sure to include seller ID and link to the actual listing along with the item number:
Seller aggieboutique

The bag is authentic, made in 1996 but the hang tag isn't original to the bag

The color looks like mahogany to me.

But since the seller calls it "light brown" in the title, "Light Brown Rare Hue" in the item specifics and in the description says, "pls see pick Tate color pls do not hold me to it depending on light in my opinion is light brown at time with tinge of olive or gray . Pls read before buying I do not want my beck to be return due to the color match or something else I did my best," I would ask the seller to try to get better pictures in natural light. Perhaps that might give a more accurate pic of the color.

The seller also has a 30 day return policy (with buyer paying return shipping) so even if she claims she doesn't want a return because of color, she's obligated to accept returns for ANY reason!

You might want to check out the feedback (91%) to decide whether this is a seller you want to buy from.

Thank you! I looked at the feedback and was concerned but the 30 day guarantee was reassuring.

Thank you for all you assistance.

Would this have probably come with a small metal hangtag?

I did not purchase the previous alligator bag that was authenticated for me. Someone else bought it while I was still trying to make a decision. If I am that uncertain it was probably not the right bag for me.

If this is deemed authentic I plan to make an offer.

Thank you, authenticators for all the work you do for the members of tPF! It is invaluable!

It's genuine, made in 1996. The hangtag isn't the original one.

How leather feels depends on what products were used, or not used, on it. The color is probably Taupe.

I don't have any photos or information on that style number. The plant code is unusual too, but "L" WAS a floater code used by temporary production facilities. It's definitely an oddball and I can't even read where it was made because the creed and other details are so out of focus.

Before you put in an offer I suggest you ask the seller for a better photo of the creed so the details are readable. Also ask for a photo of the magnetic snap shown in what looks like the 8th picture down, we need to be able to read the stamping on the "male" part of the snap.

I THINK it's genuine but that's a lot of money to spend without being able to see such important details.

More opinions are welcome.

ETA - The fonts and details in the serial number match the other Exotics from that time period. I wonder why it wasn't made in Italy.

Dearest Authenticators, could you please take a look at this Ebay listing? I would like to know its authenticity, but also the style, style number and if it is a lightweight, as opposed to classic, as the listing mentions Lightweight Spectator. Thank you so much!!!

Your expertise, time and effort are invaluable!!! :hugs:

EDIT:
I started this response, went out for a couple of hours and finished the post before seeing that Hyacinth had updated her reply.
Thank you, I tried to send a link but I could get it to paste. I’m sorry. But thank you for the help!

The creed and serial number are almost unreadable, and we really need to see a clearer photo. One of the few details I can make out doesn't look right. Did you already receive the bag? If so, we really need a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number. That style has been widely faked and it's best not to take any chances.

I'm going to try and enhance the details and get the photo right-side up.

ETA - It looks good. Genuine Handle Backpack from 1996.
Thank you for your help!

I believe that in the large photo with the incomplete creed that it was made in Italy.

Hi Coach experts!
I found this Lula's Legacy Bucket bag at the thrift store and took a chance on it. I would love to know if you think it is genuine.

I agree that it's probably authentic and it's made in Italy:
