Item: RED COACH CROSSBODY MESSENGER LEATHER BAG SHOULDER PURSE VINTAGE 3195-786 PEBBLE
Listing number: 141649764331
Seller: craigpadgett

Comments: If authentic, is it a (badly abused) '93 Madison Carlyle? Thank you! I hope you're all having a lovely Sunday.

Creed photo:

Yes, probably a Carlyle. It does look like it needs some TLC, doesn't it? The seller says "Tan fabric lining has some lighter areas, see pictures" but then doesn't show any photos of the lining, or at least I'm not seeing any in my browser. How does a fabric lining get lighter spots? Wonder what spilled in there?

TIA!

Hi Hyacinth,

You thought the bag looked ok, but mentioned the blurry creed and missing stamp. I requested a clear creed that showed the stamp. The seller added a clear picture of showing both to the listing. Would you be willing to take a second look? TIA!

Thank you so much Hyacinth! Wow, the things one learns here, so they are Keyfobs. I thought it was like a coin purse, but why put it outside of the bag? LOL

I bet you knowledgeable (and long time Coach lovers), at times must have a good laugh at how we newbies describe things, ;)

Maybe for things like change for parking meters or for bus fare? (Some meters still use change instead of credit cards, I think!) I used to use mine for my mini garage door opener. If nothing else, they can be used for purse bling or to carry things like a USB stick.

And hey, we were all Newbies once, no one laughs at anyone.

MUCH better! Yes, it has the right creed statement and the Final Sale stamp is genuine too. It's ok.

It seems to be ok.

BTW, please use the format set down in Post number one of this thread and include the seller's name, auction number and a URL for the auction.

I am new and I deeply apologize. I was just so very happy and excited to find such a great web site since I do not know anything about designer handbags. In the future I will go by the format set for the forum. Thank you for your patience and understanding Hyacinth.

Did you notice that the leather tab holding the strap on one side doesn't match the rest of the bag and looks like it's been replaced? And it's a really badly made replacement too, the replacement was NOT done by Coach. The seller shows it in a photo but doesn't mention it in the description. It looks like the leather tabs on BOTH sides have problems and have been replaced, redyed or badly repainted and heaven knows WHAT else.

The serial number is also in the old 1990-1993 format but starts with a C instead of a number. It may be a legitimate mistake but that whole bag looks like it has a LOT of problems and may be in worse shape than even the pictures show. I'm not going to even try and guess what style it is but I'd honestly recommend that you hit the Back button.

Thanks Hyacinth.

Coach Poppy Chan Goldy?

I purchased this years ago on eBay. The auction said it was only produced for sale in Japan I think, but might have been China. All printing on the box is Asain except for Coach logos & names. It has a slider like a zip-top baggie & measures 8" x 7 3/4" x 1/2". I just stored it away as a suvinor but now I have my doubts that it is authentic. The charm has nothing on the back. Any opinions?

This is the back side. I've tried & tried to load the fron, but just keep getting error. I need to have my grandson look at my computer......

There are a lot of special and giveaway items made exclusively for the Japanese market and for inserts in Japanese magazines that we never see here. There's no way to authenticate them but I don't see any problems. Not all Coach charms have their name on the back.

OK. Thanks for your input.

And speaking of stamps on charms - most of the time if the Coach name is on the front, it WON'T be on the back.
