Dear Authenticators, something about the creed doesn't ring true to me, even though the numbers/letters seem to be correct. Thanks so much for checking!

And that's precisely why "authenticating" by googling what the style number should look like is dangerous! The bag is fake.

ETA: poshmarkmaven Diane also has this fake:

Hi again: I'm on a purple (perhaps Ink?) kick lately. I saw this and pounced before authenticating as the price seemed fair. The bag is in my possession and the attached photos are my own. Thanks again for any help!

It's fine.

Could you kindly check this 9063 for me as well? Thank you so much! :flowers:

Is there a larger style than this one that has a crossbody strap as well as the buckle handles?

It's genuine. It wasn't called a Legacy Small Tote, so don't look for a larger version because of the "small" in the name in the listing. It's just called a Legacy Satchel. I don't remember ever seeing a larger version regardless of what Coach might have named it, and I specifically look for large bags when I buy. I had 2 versions of that style in different colors and it seems like I would have noticed, and probably bought, a larger version if I'd ever noticed one.

Here's a 1999 catalog page, click on the thumbnail:

There may be some larger totes with handle and strap combinations, but most would probably be newer, non-vintage styles. Maybe someone else can suggest something, or you can search the major selling sites for "large Coach tote" but that's going to bring up a LOT of listings.

Hello would you please authenticate this bag I purchased from an Estate sale? It's about 11x 7.5 x 3. Also with the double strap, does that match the bag? Is this an early convertible clutch style? Thank you.

Genuine Convertible Clutch from the late 1970s to mid-1980s. I don't know if the double strap is original.

Good morning Authenticators,
Could you please check this bag I bought from shopgoodwill? It looks and feels ok but I would appreciate your expert opinion. Ps. The original posting didn't have many pictures so I'm attaching some extra photos below.
Thanks so much for your help!
Anne

Genuine Scooter Bag from 1995

Ok I looked up several vintage Coach bags with the double strap. I thought they only used the double strap on the Basic bag. Since you mentioned the 70's-80's it does seem like a fit in person with the color and hardware matching.

There aren't many photo records from before the early 1980s so it's hard to be sure about details from that time period.

That should have been updated somewhere. Coach was making business and travel items in China as early as 1995. And small accessories were probably made there even before that.

BTW, it actually says "Production moved almost completely to China starting in 2000 although a few handbags and some travel and business items had been made there for several years already, and all Signature C fabric bags are only made in China and the other Asian plants and have only been made since 2000. Any Signature C bag with a year code from before 2000, or with a plant code or place of origin that indicates it was made in the US, is counterfeit."

So it really doesn't need a correction.
Oh, It's my bad, I really need to re read it many times
