May I please get another Ebay backpack authentication today? Thanks so very much! :hugs:

Listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-COACH-...834770?hash=item1f135ccbd2:g:SmYAAOSwISFfE1kd

It is unlined pebbled leather which I haven't seen before. If it is authentic, any information would be much appreciated (such as name and classic or lightweight leather). :flowers:

Seller: georgiannad-0

Listing number: 133468834770

Creed is M0P-6162.
It's authentic. I don't have any information on it, although I've seen it before. It was made in 2000 and is very similar in styling to the Bleecker backpack but with leather that is similar to Sonoma styles.

All look good. The last one was made in 2004, not 1994, so it isn't vintage yet.

Thanks so much, @whateve! Possibly lightweight then if similar to a Sonoma?

I have another Ebay listing, and again any info would be most helpful. :hugs: Many thanks!

I don't think of Sonoma as being lightweight leather. It's hard to tell how thick the leather is when they are lined but it feels substantial.

The bag in the ebay listing is authentic. It is called a handle backpack and was made in 1996. It is classic leather. This style is often faked.

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback in regards to the Sonoma, @whateve! I adore my aqua 4903 and silently wished it wasn't considered to be made of the lightweight leather. I don't know where I got that idea from, but you've made my day!

Thank you also for the information on the Handle Backpack! I'm looking for a friend who wants a special gift for his niece's 40th and she's a very casual, outdoorsy, gal. This might just be perfect.

So this is going to be a looooong shot but had anyone come across one of these really really old item before? I found this toiletry bag that appears to be the same one from this 1959 ad. Screenshot_20201028-021516.png

Here's a listing for the ad that days it's from 1959.
Finally here is the item:
Could this be verified as Coach vagabond utility kit?

It does sure look just like the Vagabond. But based on the pictures posted by the seller, there's no Coach marking on it so I'm not sure how you'd prove it's Coach in the event you were to sell it.

(I wonder if the archives might be interested in buying it!)

It's a great find!

I bought it and I can't find anything that says Coach on it. This article here has the ad with the label first "glove-tanned" branding
Does that mean that the very first Coach products were only stamped as "glove-tanned" as the brand? None of the products in the ad shows any Coach marking of any sort. I can't say for sure that they didn't use the word Coach on their items back then. Does anyone know?

I wouldn't be a bit surprised if they didn't put any branding on their early products.

I think the Archives aren't interested in much at the moment. If they're not interested in even keeping an Archivist on the payroll, they're probably not doing much buying either.
