Hello, everyone.

I very much appreciate whatever you can tell me about these bags. We got them from my great-aunt's home recently, and I don't know if they're real, when they were made, what they're called, or anything!

The brown bag is about 10 inches wide and 9 inches tall. The darker bag is about 9 inches wide and 8 inches tall.

In case the images aren't clear, the serial numbers are 014-9006 and F9C-9120.

Any information you can give in addition to authentication would be super heroic. You have my thanks in advance.

The tan one is a 1999 re-issue of the Classic Shoulder Bag, style 9170. The style itself goes all the way back to at least 1976 when it was called a Classic Pouch.

The second one is a Court Bag, style number 9870. This particular one was made between 1989 when it was introduced and 1992.

Below are catalog pages for the styles.

Style 9170 from the Fall 1997 catalog:

style 9870 from a 1997 webpage:

Both are genuine.

Dear authenticators, request to authenticate please. Thank you!

Item: 4186, was unable to find a name, a seller is calling it hipster and another called it rare. Not all sellers know the names. Not sure about either.
Where purchased or how obtained: thrift store
Comments: dimensions are 7 1/2" height, 10" width and 3" depth

It's authentic and is called a Lexington zip.

Good morning Knowledgeable Ones,

It is with some trepidation that I seek your opinion on this bag. But I do need to know:

Name: Drifter Crossbody
Purchased: Depop UK, 02/2020
Seller ID: Kent Kicks (no longer active)
Dimensions cms: 20 x 6.5 x 16.5 + Strap: 34+87
Comments: That creed?! I have read it may refer to a sample or not released version? Anyway, the snakeskin, quality of leather and suede plus the gunmetal hardware do make for a very pretty bag...I just need to know whether she is authentic. Also pictured her against my all-black top handle Drifter (authentic) for scale.

Be gentle with me please.

Many thanks in advance, as always.

Zoe xx

Hello! I am an eBay seller and was hoping to authenticate this bag received as a donation to our thrift store) before posting. I believe it is a vintage Berkeley saddle crossbody bag, just wanted to be sure as there is no creed and only a small coach stamp on the inner pocket. I know this could mean it is a 1960s/1970s bag but just wanted to double check! Thank you so much, let me know if more pictures are needed!IMG_9564.JPGIMG_9565.JPGIMG_9567.JPGIMG_9568.JPGIMG_9569.JPGIMG_9570.JPGIMG_9571.JPGIMG_9572.JPG

Hello, Can you please authenticate this 2002 Carousel bag? The style number doesn't match for a Carousel but it does have the bullseye and other factors seem to match for it being authentic. I assume, if it is authentic i.e. the style number is a mistake. Could use some third party perspective.

Item Name (if you know it): Carousel 9924 (but marked 9945)
Link (if available):not available (a neighbor is selling)

It may or may not be authentic. The problem with 00000 and 99999 style numbers is that they've been used on many different styles of bags over the years and unless an obvious fake, they can't be authenticated one way or the other.

And although there haven't been many with 00000 prefixes, those are even more difficult (and questionable?) because there's no indication of when and where they were made.

If you like the bag and want to use it, that's fine. But if you ever tire of it and want to either resell or donate, it shouldn't be done. As a seller, you need to know items are authentic and you can't prove this one. And if you donate, it keeps a questionable and unprovable item in circulation.

Personally, I'd return it for a refund.

I believe it's okay.

My records have several examples of mistakes out of the A plant.

One of the mistakes was an authentic Murphy bag (9930) with a station bag (5130) style number.

Other mistakes include scrambled prefixes, missing month code and a probably authentic 0000 style number bag.

Thank you! Would it be possible for me to resell this then? I mean I like the bag but at some point I may want to resell it and not get stuck with something I can not resell.

Hello!

Could somebody please authenticate my bags? I've had them for a few months and never even knew they made fakes.

I've bought them on the Dutch version of eBay called Marktplaats and vinted.

First one: pocket purse (I think) not sure what the colour is called.
Size: 24x17x6cm approximately.

Second one: court bag in mahogany (I think)
Size: 25x20x9 cm approximately

Both came without hangtags.

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your time and counsel @BeenBurned I will err on the side of caution and just keep her for my own pleasure. Unfortunately I can’t return her as the Seller is no longer active on Depop. I’m glad I asked though. Thanks again. Zoe xx
