Both are authentic. The first is a basic bag made between 1989-1993. The second was made in 1999 and was called Legacy studio flap.

Request for insight, was this a thing? This factory short strap? Thanks in advance!

The less said about that listing, the better.

It's always important that you remember the instructions in the "IMPORTANT READ-ME" post at the top of every ATC page:

" Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number."
Start with the current year and work backwards.

Happy Reading!

Im trying to authenticate a bag that I got a resale store. Im positive that its a fake but am finding conflicting websites. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
You're right, it's fake.
Thank You
If some of the conflicting websites you found deem this bag as authentic even though the creed describes a bag made of leather (for this non-leather item), you should avoid that site!

If some of the conflicting websites you found deem is authentic just because the style number (suffix of the serial number) matches the style it's supposed to be, you should avoid that site!

Even if the resale store has a no return policy, that's out the window when they've broken the law by selling a fake. Take it back and request or demand a refund or at least, request to get credit toward an exchange. Whether they sold it as authentic or not doesn't matter since it's illegal to sell fakes and they're supposed to verify authenticity before selling.
