LOL! I was checking around too. I believe the bag on Mercari is fake.

These are from my records. (Last picture is a creed from an authentic 1999 B bag.) Each comp is to the bag in question.

ETA: From @Hyacinth: "I'd hesitate to report it with only a difference in the serial number to go by"
I doubt that's an issue as I've never seen Mercari respond to a report!

ETA #2:
Here's another 1999 B creed from an authentic bag:

Whoops about seller id
I actually did end up purchasing, but before I could cancel anything it was already “shipped” so I have it in my possession. The funny thing is that it feels real. It does not feel or look like the fake leather I’ve seen. Was this a lighter weight bag? If I can add any pictures please let me know!

I’m questioning this B plant font
Thanks in advance!

I'm questioning it too. I've found other examples of exactly the same font and many of them also have obviously fake details like non-Coach turnlocks or the wrong kind of magnetic snap. Unfortunately the Hippie Flaps don't have any similar hardware details that can be used for authentication. But the serial number font seems too large, and the "No" doesn't match other comparable serial numbers from the same plant and year.

Still checking, but I don't recommend buying it. More opinions are welcome, but I'd hesitate to report it with only a difference in the serial number to go by, especially during that period of Coach's history when plants were being closed and equipment and stamps bounced around among the plants that were still open

What is the dispute process on Mercari?

There are some "good" fakes that don't feel fake. IIRC, there have been some posts in which experienced Coachies have had close fakes that they were unaware of being fake until they started comparing details like fonts, creeds, plant codes and serial numbers.

My suggestion would be that if you like the bag and its quality and plan to use it yourself, keep it and use it. But if you resell once you get tired of or replace bags, don't keep it. Or if and when you do want to resell, cut out the creed from the pocket and remove the hangtag. I don't think it should be resold as "Coach."

I'm curious.......is there any marking on the back of the strap buckles?

ETA: I don't think this is normal. Look how tiny the stitches are going around the bottom of the curve and a comp from a similar style: Screen Shot 2020-02-25 at 12.51.54 PM.png

ETA again: Here's another comp from a 9135 on Poshmark. (I'm not promoting the site but the comp is a good one!)

I didn’t like the look of the ends of the straps either. There is no writing on the backs of the buckles BUT there is some chipping of the nickel finish which I haven’t seen in a authentic bag of this year. It seems very heavily plated. And probably aluminum because it has a strong magnetic pull.
I’m going to do a return request which I’ve never had a problem with. The only thing to remember with mercari is you have to photograph all packaging material no matter the request.

Do your buckles have "Coach" on them as do the comps?

Hello Authenticators,
I got this cute little taco purse and would like your opinion on authenticity whenever time allows. If it is authentic, not sure if it is considered Saphire or Purple either.

Item: Kimball 9911
Measurements: 8.75" W X 6.25" H X 3" D; 21" strap drop

Thank you!

Irks me to no end being called sweetie and hunny. I'm like, how old do you think I am? I am a grandma lol
I was trying on clothes once. A woman who was showing a man what she tried on and he said, "That looks like something a 40 year old grandma would wear!"

I didn't see him but I wondered how young he was to think that grandmas were usually 40 years old.
