Please comment on this one.

The seller was FKA botticelli4grace but after years of listing fakes, ebay naru'ed her.

Now she's selling as collectibleonceloved.

A search of the Coach subforum of "botticelli4grace" and "collectibleonceloved" shows a lot of history.

Today's listing in question is from
Seller collectibleonceloved
Comments: The creed doesn't look right for 1997 D plant. Is this bag fake?

I only have one other Tribeca with the exact same serial font in my files and I only saved the creed pic but I have it filed as "questionable". But you're right, the font doesn't match any other D plant serial in my files, especially the too-long underline in the "No" The strap hardware looks right but there's no photo of the magnetic snap and that would be the final proof either way. I really can't say for sure and I don't want my distrust of the seller to influence my thinking.

I'll try to find more Tribeca photos but I may have to stick with "questionable" on that one.

Dear Authenticators,
This eBay listing doesn't have clear / complete creed pictures, but please give me your opinion based on information available. Thank you very much. Seller: jalt529

I think it's worth requesting creed photos.

ETA: Are you the buyer?

My main concerns are that the seller doesn't accept returns, and that she's had that listing up for close to a year. She has made quite a few revisions in both the description and adding or deleting photos but seems to be clueless about what details and photos are needed. She's also done what a lot of foolish sellers do and allowed Ebay to select the description of the items from Ebay's "catalog" based on matching keywords which most of the time is a huge mistake because the description ends up being totally different than the item being sold. If you've read the description carefully you should understand what I mean. Just because Ebay makes a stunningly stupid feature like that available doesn't mean that sellers should use it.

The black one is probably a genuine Sonoma but I'm not going to try and guess the style, the tan one is possibly genuine but I can't see any details at all of the creed or serial number so its chances of being real are a bit lower.

Thank you very much for the detailed information, I will contact seller for creeds photos before finalize the shipping. If she doesn't want to go through the trouble to verify the authenciation, I may have to ask for a cancellation. It is my fault to take a chance like this. I will not do it again.

Yes. My fault to take a chance like this. Won't do it again.
This is JMO, but for a total of $30 (including shipping) for 2 probably authentic bags, it's worth taking a chance on completing the purchase. If they're badly SNAD, you'll have the dispute option available to you but IMO, you got a deal. (I don't think the seller realizes how much it's going to cost her to ship, especially with the increase in priority shipping rates that just took effect.)

It's not an outlet style. It was a boutique item that was sent to the outlet (bullet) but I couldn't find the bag on the wayback.

I believe it's called something like a Hamptons book tote and is from the same line as these:

Does the "FS" before the style number on the price tag indicate a transfer from the boutique?

Coach didn't start stamping the "F" prefix on the creed patch style numbers Until around September of 2006, and this one has a H05S serial prefix, so I figured with the FS on the price tag, it would have been a Factory item. I think outlet stamps in bags from before September 2006 could indicate either a transfer or a MFF item.

Thanks BeenBurned, I contacted the seller asking for creeds photos and asking to hold off shipping. I pay $20 something for Canadian shipping and taxes. You are right, also I never backed off from a deal even with the ones I regretted with bidding, so if seller ships the item without creeds photos first, I will have to see how is the result. She may just cancel it herself because all the troubles and cost of shipping. Thanks again.

I've seen bags that were transferred to outlets and new "F" (and at the time FS) tags were made for them.

TBH, I don't have notes on when they began stamping outlet bags and I can't figure it out from my own photo files.

So it's possible that the bag may have been a MFF item.

I'm pretty sure about the J06* being the first to use the F in the style number. It may have been a month or two earlier but I think that's as accurate as I can get with the photos I have. I'll watch for more though. There are no factory "F"s in any of my photos from before that.

Hello Authenticators, I don't know how to quote my request earlier, so just post it again with new creed photo for the brown bag.
Seller jalt529 .thanks

It seems to be genuine, but there's a mistake in the serial number. The style number looks like 4919 and that belongs to a Small Flap Natural Grain which actually fits the description and measurements of the black bag. The tan or brown one looks like a 4907 Sonoma Small Bucket Zip.

Did she send you a photo of the serial number from the black flap-style bag?

4907_Sonoma Sm Bucket Zip-1997.jpg 4919_Small Flap Natural Grain-spr1997.jpg

We've seen mistakes in style numbers before, it's not usually a problem unless there are other problems with the bag. Coach didn't even officially release the Sonoma Small Flap 4919 until Fall 1997 according to my catalogs.

Maybe I'm finally just losing my mind. It had to happen sooner or later ... :-s

ETA - Or maybe ... s/he kept making all those revisions to the description and the photos because she had two different bags that had the same style number and someone may have told her that it was a problem.

It is the only photo she sent and the seller appeared annoyed in her email . So I will have to wait till receive the bags, then I can take pictures of creed myself. Thanks for the help and very detailed analysis.have a good day.
