I hope youi didn't already buy and pay for it, because it's FAKE. There must have been a LOT of fakes in that exact style, because I got stuck with two of them maybe 12 or 15 years ago, one in brown with the exact same serial number and one in Periwinkle but with a different fake serial number prefix. That Periwinkle color is so pretty but the market was flooded with fakes in that color (and others too) and they're still circulating. Style 9991 was highly faked and should NEVER be purchased without being authenticated here first. There's a good chance the leather on yours is a bit stiffer than vintage Coach bags usually are too.

If you had run a tPF Search for "j8h" using the SEARCH FORUMS link at the top of almost every tPF page and seleted "Coach" you would have found TWELVE PAGES of 20 posts each that mention that serial number and why it's always fake, no exceptions. That's one of the things the Search link is for. I suggest you read at least the 5 or 6 most recent pages of posts.

Red pocket purse
Creed looks kinda funny, but maybe its me.
Seller: itwilf

It's fake. Invalid serial number, month and plant codes and stamping problems with the creed. Also genuine 9755s don't have a center seam on the base OR a zipper on the inside pocket. It also looks like there are indentations on the back of the turnlock.

And if it's a Pocket Purse, where the he!! is the pocket under the flap???

There's a LOT more wrong with that fake than just a funny-looking creed.

Thank you @Hyacinth , I appreciate it, I thought it looked odd.

I added another detail after you replied.

Anyone who buys or sells vintage styles that are highly faked like this one should keep some kind of list of the details found in genuine highly faked styles styles and the details only found in fakes. The problems I mentioned are often but not always found in fake Pocket Purses and anyone buying one needs to check them carefully, sometimes a serial number just doesn't tell you enough. This one is a prime example because it has just about every mistake ever seen in a 9755 fake. It also wouldn't hurt to keep a list on your phone or tablet when you're thrifting or hitting the neighborhood garage sales. Keep it simple, like "9755 Pocket Purse - real - no center base seam, no inside pocket zip, 3 pockets"

Thank you so much. To he honest the leather is very soft but other things , like the zipper and hardware and little paint on the zip tells me something is off. Thanks again

Yep, I didn't even mention the paint on the zipper because metal pieces like zips can pick up reflections from backgrounds and walls. My Periwinkle fake's leather may have been painted because it felt stiff compared to my other vintage bags, but back then I was just learning how to spot fakes and fake numbers. By the time I figured out what was wrong with it, the return/SNAD window had closed.

Thank you again @Hyacinth , I'm going to put that right in my files.

I'm also curious about this one, purchased the same way (Goodwill auction). It looks so much like a Dooney bag, it throws me off but I have seen others like it identified as Coach.

Item: Coach Duffle Style Bag
Serial #: C00882-F12321

Thanks again for all your help!

The bag you received looks okay.

For future purchases, you might consider avoiding sellers who "borrow" (or steal) pictures from other sources. Of the 12 pictures shown, 4 are not the seller's own and for highly faked styles (Swaggers among them), it's extremely important to see the actual item.

Most of trendi*threads*4u's listings use at least some pictures that aren't the item buyers will receive.
Thanks, and I appreciate the advice. :)
