I half-remember seeing something like that at my full-price store some time around maybe 2005-06 give or take a year or two. Or this one may have been made for the Factory Stores since it has a bullseye. There's no photo in my files though, and my memory ain't what it used to be.

I’ve been wondering about bullseyes on older items. I know that for a long time Coach would stamp creeds with bullseyes when an item was put into an outlet or perhaps marking items as final sale prior to the outlet stores? But did Coach also specifically make items MFF back in the day? The one you are referring to looks newer. I’m just wondering if you have an estimated year where Coach started producing items that were only meant for factory stores. And before they started using F in creeds for factory items were MFF creeds instead just marked with the bullseye? Thanks!

I don't know exactly when they started making outlet-specific items. The outlets go back to around 1989 or 1990 based on what I've seen so it probably wasn't long after that. I've seen bullseyes in bags from the early 1990s. The earliest ones are in an Avenue Bag with a Bean Bag creed which definitely puts the production date of the bag at late 1990 because of the creed. Several creeds in my files from the 1991 Retro line also have outlet stamps. It would be really hard to know which early items were MFF unless they still had the original receipts. Just guessing but early MFF items were probably mostly small leather goods like wallets that were made for the Factory stores for the holiday gift-giving season.

Coach apparently started stamping bags made just for the Factory Stores with the F in front of the style number in late 2006. J0651-F08A70 is the earliest one I've noticed.

Thanks so much for all the info! It’s all very interesting. We need a Netflix 8 part documentary series with dramatic re-enactments lol

I have a couple of items that if someone could authenticate when time is available. I bought all these at a flea market & put away for 3 years or so. I am cleaning out my closet. I have not decided to keep or sell but I don’t want to sell anything that is not authentic.I think the Coach box belongs to another item. This was all purchased together. I purchased these before I joined here. Please forgive me if I made any mistakes in listing this request since I have only made a few requests. Thanks in advance.
1. Wallet, brown & black, in color measures 7 1/2” x 4” with a bullseye stamp with a Coach card dated 1995. Trifold. Has checkbook cover.
2. I am assuming this is a Coach passport cover. Measures 3 3/4” x 5 1/2”. The little Coach mini book was inside.

Both are genuine but it's hard to identify them if that's what you need because most of your photos are too close. We need to see all the components of a wallet together in one photo, opened up and showing both the outside and the inside. Are all the photos below the top 2 tan item from the same wallet? If the top 2 photos are supposed to be the passport cover we need to see the inside. We've already determined that they're authentic so we don't need any extreme close-ups.

The box doesn't belong to either one, and the third photo from the bottom looks like a checkbook cover. The wallet is probably newer than the passport cover. That's all I can tell you without better photos. If you don't need them identified, no problem. If you post more photos please put the 2 items in separate posts and there's no need for another photo of the checkbook cover. The wallet has an outlet stamp and if it was actually a Made For Factory Stores item we may not be able to give it a name.

This is just the wallet. I am sorry the way I did it before. Wallet measures 7 1/2” x 4”. Are these any better? Thanks again. Linda

Those are much better, thanks!

I know posting photos here can be a real PITA until you get the hang of it. If someone messes up choosing the size they can end up with 2 copies of each photo, and sometimes the forum software doesn't post them in the correct sequence. Give us a while to see if we can put names to them.

EDITED TO ADD - OK, I think I have the style number at least, but I need to look a bit deeper for the style name. The number is style 5898. It was probably made in 2007.

EDITED AGAIN - Sorry, no luck finding a name other than "Leather Checkbook Wallet". The only thing I could find was just the item photo from Coach's files of style 5898:

5898_d1.jpg

enlarged to show more detail:

And again I forgot to do both sides of the wallet. Sorry. I went back & looked at my original photos & it would have confused me. I appreciate your help. I think I followed this forum for 3 or 4 years before I even posted anything. I am deciding on what to keep & what needs to be re-cycled. I am labeling the items so I know that if I decide to list an item that it has been authenticated. Thanks again

Thanks a bunch for all the help. At least I know the style number & it is authentic. Linda RomeyBeano

You're welcome. I'm not completely sure about the date though, it may be as early as 2003. Or it may even be an outlet item since I looked through dozens of Wayback Machine pages and couldn't find it anywhere. Outlet items usually are almost impossible to pin down with names and dates
