Good evening.. a friend of my friend is selling this coach sling.. may i know if this is authentic? Thank you

I'm not optimistic based on what I'm seeing both on the item as well as the tag.

Please post a picture of the inside of the tag, a picture of the "made in" label and a better picture of the full creed, preferably right side up.

And out of curiosity, may I ask where the "friend of the friend" is located?

Does the serial number start with "No-C1360-"?

If it does, you or your friend needs to find some new friends.
OMG!! After Hyacinth posted, I went back and looked at the pictures you'd posted and can save you some work. Forget the additional pictures I'd requested. They aren't necessary (and it has nothing to do with the serial prefix).

The bag is fake.

I am still obsessed with the Italian Coach bags and as an impulse I entered a minimal bid at the last second on this auction. To my surprise I was the only bidder and I won!

I haven't paid yet and I believe that it is genuine but I would appreciate your expert opinions.

I think that it is a Gramercy Top Handle Satchel 7002, but the color is what grabbed my attention. It looks like burgundy or something similar?

I am a bit concerned about the "X" stamp on the creed because that may mean that the bag was defective. I don't see any obvious defects so perhaps it refers to the sticky glob on the inside (that I hope to remove during the rehab!)

Item: Gramercy Top Handle Satchel 7002 (Made in Italy in 1999, MSRP = $348, Paid $50)
Listing number: 323438908064
Seller: msblingboutique

Even though it doesn't match any of the C1360-prefix serial number photos from genuine Coaches in my files. If it's supposed to be C1860, it's even worse, and the style number is totally illegible - 25664?

I figured you were busy last night so I'll throw in my 2 cents and then go back to watching the news. So MUCH news! I hope all our members who are getting pounded by Florence are ok and not affected by the floods or the power outages. (As for the other news - :yahoo: )

We won't even get into the creed's Coach logo, the cheap badly made and badly edge-painted strap and the uncentered C pattern. That's a REALLY bad fake, it's in "Canal Street Special" territory. And I'd love to see the rest of that wonky price tag, since when are they attached with a ball chain?

Friends don't let friends buy fakes, and they sure as he11 don't SELL them to them.

It's genuine and looks like it's made its rounds through the outlets. The color isn't in my files.

Good luck with your rehab!

OT but there was also not-so-good news in my area over the last couple of days. We're about 30 miles from the 3 cities involved. 70 houses blew up within minutes of each other when one of the gas companies f-ed up:
Outrage mounts as questions about cause of gas explosions go unanswered

I saw that too - it had to be absolutely terrifying for all those poor people! I figured you were well out of the danger zone when they mentioned where those towns were located, but that gas company is in serious trouble. I hope they've got the problem nailed down so all those people who had to evacuate can get back home.

Yay! I almost bid on it as I was watching it but I forgot it last minute! So glad it went to you! I have the 7002 in wheat. The leather on yours is gorgeous!

I thought of you when I saw that on the news. How scary!

What bothers me is that the gas company will probably claim bankruptcy and the victims will get pennies on the dollar, if anything at all.

I can't imagine how scary that must have been for everyone.

They MUST have insurance, right? I'd imagine the affected homeowner's insurance would pay then go after the gas company's insurers. Though that only covers material items, not any personal injury/death/trauma. So scary to think this could happen.

Thank you, so glad to get it! The wheat looks lovely, I found these items on the Wayback Machine but it only shows black and wheat; I wish I knew what they called the burgundy color!

I have it in black, it’s a great bag. It does fit more than it looks - I carry my fat wallet, phone, keys and iPad mini, no problem.

Hello everyone! I have several bags I'd like to have authenticated from recent thrift shopping trips. The first is an XL Duffle sac measures 9" x 9' at the bottom, 15" across at the top and 13 1/2" tall. It is missing the strap.

IMG_9002.jpegIMG_9003.jpeg

The second is a Stewardess Bag 11" long x 10 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" deep

IMG_9004.jpeg IMG_9005.jpeg IMG_9006.jpeg

And the last is a Dinky 9" long x 5" tall x 1 1/2" deep.
