For further information, please refer to the first post on page 1 of this thread.

Please follow the following requests:
  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated by searching the seller ID and/or item number. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • Note that authenticators have the right to refuse any requests. This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:
  • FOR ITEMS LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller and site where listed
    Link:
    Comments:

  • FOR ITEMS NOT LISTED ONLINE:
    Item:
    Where purchased or how obtained
    Comments:
BASIC PICTURES REQUIRED (but more may be requested): If necessary pictures are in the listing, it's not necessary to upload and duplicate them.
  • Front of item
  • Back of item
  • Full clear and legible creed text and serial number
  • Made in tags (when available)
  • Measurements
  • For bags with turnlock closures, show pictures of back of female side of turnlock
  • For bags with magnetic snaps, show pictures of the male part of the snap so that the numbers and letters on it can be read
  • If applicable, search interior of bag and/or pockets for small white tag with production information and include a picture of that.
Thank you and be safe!

I've never seen that. Nor have I seen a creed with "Coach travel exclusive" on it. (This isn't conclusive of anything; just a comment.)

I've seen store exclusives with a letter after the style number, specifically, M and E. Although there's never been positive confirmation of what the letters mean, from what I've surmised, M is for Macy's and E is for Dillard's.

I've never seen I and can't authenticate that bag at this point. (Was there a tag with it?)

No tag with it. Well, I have to say that if it's not authentic, it's one of those really superb fakes with all the details I'd expect from Coach - even the embossed c's line up over the pocket openings on the exterior. I'll definitely use it, but if I tire of it, I will not sell or donate it unless I can confirm authentic since I know there are some really good fakes out there. Thank you so much for looking at it, BeenBurned!

Maybe someone else is familiar with the bag and/or the markings.

And another comment regarding TRR: I strongly dislike sites that require you to sign up in order to fully view listings. I wasn't able to look at the pictures without login information.

And also why make a limited edition travel bag? It doesn't even look like any travel bag I've seen, more like a File Bag, which has never been part of any travel collection, in fact the File Bags are mostly Factory Outlet styles..

The fonts on that white tag aren't right either, and they're several different thicknesses. I agree, it has to be fake. And if Coach usually avoided using the letter "i" in the serial number codes, why would they assign it to a retail store or other partner? Plus - uneven creed stamping, M's and N's are unusually thick and the S in craftsmanship is wonky. The top zipper on Coaches is almost never extended way past the corner of a bag like this one is, and the front pocket zipper detail isn't normal, in fact none of the hardware looks right. There are just way too many red flags on this one. If I'd paid that much for it I'd be demanding a full refund. I don't care how qualified their authenticators are, someone blew it on this one.

Hoping someone may be able to authenticate this item I purchased from TRR. I waited to receive it since I know you'd need the inside tags. I searched online and didn't find any with this specific number, though based on the look and feel, I'm 99% confident it's genuine. Just want to be 100% and also am curious if anyone knows the style name, too. Thank you!

Here's the listing: https://www.therealreal.com/product...ach-embossed-leather-shoulder-bag-aPQZ2tLdOeo

And my own pics:

What is the last character on the second line? 577331? 57733I?

Oh - I had assumed it was a one, but now looking again, it's definitely an I, so it's G1781 57733I... which seems really unusual. Hmmm

For the record, TRR (TheRealReal aka The Real Real) authenticators have been wrong many times in the past, including on Coach:
https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/poshmark-authenticators-are-questionable.990794/#post-32404088

There are lots of posts on the Ebay, shopping and other Authenticate This threads where they've sold fakes.

I agree with Hyacinth. I'd return that bag to TRR and let them know they need to get better authenticators!

Another name for the rapidly growing "Do NOT BUY FROM... " List.

Crikey! Seven pages of posts! I'll set that aside to read while I'm doing laundry later. I'm wondering about this recent reply though and didn't want to dig through all the posts in that thread:

They really don't allow discussion of the reasons an item is fake?

It doesn't look like they sell more than a handful of Coach items. Their Coach authenticator probably checks to see if the stitching is straight and the Cs line up correctly and that's their "authentication".

That post isn't referring to TRR not allowing discussion of why an item is fake. The poster is referring to the feeling of many of the posters on TPF. They're of the belief that pointing out why items are fake helps the counterfeiters know what they did wrong and helps them make a "better" fake. We're among the few authenticators who get into specifics.

True dat - unless we think we have a good reason not to.
