Perfect...that lines up with what we thought. Is there any way to pinpoint a year? Seems the serial numbers only date them if they were made 94 or later?
The bag was made for several years. The glued in serial numbers were only used for a few years but there is disagreement about which years. Coach didn't keep good records. I think the glued in serial numbers were used primarily between 1980 and 1983. That's about as close as we can guess. You're right, before 1994, the numbers didn't have a date code. From what we've seen, the numbers weren't even used in any kind of sequence.

Before 1994, serial numbers were randomly assigned and didn't have anything to do with the style number.

Regarding the external condition, the color appears uneven and there are some markings that might be veins on one side (inherent in the leather). I don't see any structural problems. You won't know about the inside until the seller provides photos.

If it were mine I would rehab it (bath, conditioner, etc.) but be prepared for an uncertain outcome. You don't know what products might have been used on it in the past, and why the colors are uneven. If there are stains on the inside, proceed with caution!

Thank you for your quick response. The more I look at this the more uncomfortable I am with the look of the leather. The seller is apparently 'on the road' and will send a photo of the interior later in the week. We'll see. Thanks again.

It is a Patricia Legacy, I’m thinking it’s mahogany. The seller did it was hardly used and when I received it, the leather is not as supple as my other coach bags. That’s the only reason I was concerned. But as I said any help would be great! Thank you!

It's authentic. Sometimes the leather gets dry depending on the storage conditions.

Hello, this is my Pocket Bag. I’ve read there have been cases of run on serial numbers but I wasn’t sure about this one. It was in really great shape, doesn’t look like it was ever used. It’s 11x 7.5 x 2.5
Any help would be appreciated!

Hello everyone! I recently purchased this bag from an auction site. I jumped the gun and bought the bag first and asked questions second. I’ve googled all over and can only find one bag like it. Does anyone know the name? I can sort of suss out it’s from 2003 if I’m correct. IMG_0360.JPG

Hi everyone,

Could someone authenticate this bag?

I wanna jump on it, but the creed/serial number seem suspicious. The font seems funny and the serial number seems like there was another glued on top of it. The serial number seems to indicate it was made in February 1994 (I think it's B4F-9983), so maybe as they just started the new serial number system it got messed up?

item: Coach Regina 9983
listing number: NA?
seller: Poshmark, trainerchick99

It's fake.
Thank you, I'm glad I did not purchase it! Are there any follow up steps I should take?
You might let the seller, trainerchick99 know that it's fake and as such, she should issue a refund to the buyer who purchased it. (You can post on ended listings.) If necessary, refer her here.

Whether the seller is honest enough to do the right thing is up in the air. I've found Poshmark and many of its members to have questionable ethics!

Since it's Poshmark, reporting it probably wouldn't do any good. Their attitude about fakes and refusal to remove them when they're reported is one big reason why we don't recommend dealing with them. Even if you post a message in the Comments, the seller will probably just delete it and block you. And of course she'd remove the creed photo so that someone else who isn't familiar with Coach creeds would be more likely to buy it without questioning it.

Just make a note to yourself to avoid Poshmark seller " trainerchick99 " in the future.
I agree with Hyacinth. You can get in trouble with Poshmark if you post a comment telling the seller it is fake.
I posted before I'd finished reading so I'll just add another comment.

You CAN post and the ONE good thing about Poshmark is that the seller cannot remove comments. However the seller can block you from making further comments on her listings.

ETA: As someone who HAS been banned as a result of comments, I'm one who doesn't care. I won't do business with Poshmark, usually won't authenticate listings there and will recommend against doing business on PM.

It's authentic and although I don't know the official name, it's probably some type of belted carryall or satchel. (And yes, it's from 2003.)

Thank you so much. I had fallen off the coach bandwagon when the signature styles debuted. I mainly collect the vintage styles and was worried I’d wasted $35 on this one instead of a city bag that was really faded.
