Can anyone tell me if this is a real coach? I have been told that a clear give away that one is fake is the 3D look of the brass twist back closure. Is that the case? This bag is very well made and that is really the only reason I doubt that it could be real?

This passed down from my mother to my wife but she does not really like purses this big. So we’re going sell just hoping someone confirm it’s a real original coach. If so can someone tell what I should ask for it.

^^ This one is fake and you can't sell it as is. If you cut out the pocket with the fake creed and remove the fake hang tag, you can sell or donate as a generic bag.

But please don't even donate it without removing anything that implies "Coach" as it serves to keep the fake in circulation.

This is the other one this one not in as nice of shape, still looks pretty good I think, but then again I know absolutely nothing about purses
This one is authentic.

It's fake. You're correct about the back of the turnlock. The K3H serial number is another giveaway as it's an invalid serial prefix.

Thanks Burned i Cant believe that my mom had a fake purse she only shops stores not places where you find fake stuff. I will take all out tags now and won't donate it either. i will not in anyway ever contribute to thieves who steal from the designers of any product.

There's no problem with donating if there's nothing indicating that it might be Coach on it.

Good morning! I have a question regarding a strap on this Pony Express bag:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/569099882/vintage-bonnie-cashin-rare-coach-black?ref=sold_out-14#

It's different from other ponies' straps I've seen, I only came across a strap like this once and I was assuming that one was a replacement, but this one makes two of them and that's why I'm asking.

I'm not questioning neither authenticity of the bag or the strap in no way - just curious.

P.S. And here's another one, from Pinterest. Not much info available about it, so I just saved the picture.

Thank you!

The one on Etsy is from around 1989-1990 so maybe it's just an updated strap design? The original Pony Express had been discontinued in 1982 but Coach started bringing back remakes and retro versions of older styles and that continued all through the 1990s, so I'm guessing they just used a strap design that was already in production instead of remaking an old design. Just a guess.

Item: Coach bucket bag--duffle bag

Thought this was a 9085--the large duffle sac. The number inside threw me off. Also, does the leather look incredibly dried out, stained, something? I'd appreciate any opinions on condition. I have requested a photo of the interior.

Before 1994, serial numbers were randomly assigned and didn't have anything to do with the style number.

Regarding the external condition, the color appears uneven and there are some markings that might be veins on one side (inherent in the leather). I don't see any structural problems. You won't know about the inside until the seller provides photos.

If it were mine I would rehab it (bath, conditioner, etc.) but be prepared for an uncertain outcome. You don't know what products might have been used on it in the past, and why the colors are uneven. If there are stains on the inside, proceed with caution!

Hi everyone,

Could someone authenticate this bag?

I wanna jump on it, but the creed/serial number seem suspicious. The font seems funny and the serial number seems like there was another glued on top of it. The serial number seems to indicate it was made in February 1994 (I think it's B4F-9983), so maybe as they just started the new serial number system it got messed up?
