You're welcome. You don't need to retype your request. That would just confuse things. I put the seller name in my response so it is covered. I had one of these; brand new still in the box, and I couldn't bring myself to use it! I never actually tried my stuff inside. I have a few 80s styles, one that is still brand new in the box, and two that are really pretty unusual colors, and I can't bring myself to use them either. I really like the domed shape. I have one that is very similar to the one in the listing, except the upper part of it is made of wool. I used to use it quite a bit, but lately I've been using my Snoopy pencil case as a cosmetic case.

When you say you can't bring yourself to use them, do you mean you want to keep them preserved in pristine condition, or that you just lack the interest or motivation to carry them? I didn't realize that you still own so much 'unused' inventory (as opposed to selling it off over the years)

Did you eventually sell the one that I'm eyeing? I see she's selling the identical one in Burgundy also. The pics look bright Red but she clarifies that she had no control over how the color displayed -- at least she seems honest.

Thx so much, @whateve!

I'll be sure to add the other required info. in the future -- i thought the link would cover it all. Shall I retype the request so that you have enough info for future searches? It's no problem for me, LMK.

I'm really tempted to buy it -- thx for alerting me to the handling time...gives new difinition to SLO-MO, huh?

I wish Coach would make more of these stunning cosmetic bags...do you like this one?

I have one of those in the Small version that I bought at the outlet probably around 2005 give or take a year or two. At my age I don't carry a lot of cosmetics anyway, and that wide base can limit which purse it will fit. Like Whateve, most of my take-alongs now fit into a small Snoopy bag (Great Minds Think Alike!) but mine is nylon from LeSportsac.

I mean I have trouble destroying the pristine condition of something that has escaped use for years. I don't want to be the one that makes the first mark on it. I am better with buying items that have already been broken in. I did sell the one that is like the listing. It was black, still in the box with the original tissue.

The few I still have that aren't used I am keeping as collectibles. I'm happy just admiring them. I also have a small collection of kisslock coin purses that I can't bring myself to use either.

I totally understand Whateve. I too have a collection of unused, many vintage pieces, of Coach that I like & admire, but don't use. [emoji16]

I totally understand also. I have a few unused, but NOT vintage, bags and SLG's that I actually plan to use and really like, and won't ever sell. But they're more in the "I'm in no rush" category vs. the ones that are in that 'Hoarder' black hole category, that are collecting dust. If I sold or donated the latter ones, I'd be better off with some pocket money (from sales) or by freeing up much needed space in my home.

I just hadn't realized that you have such a vast collection, lol. I should have gotten a clue when you claimed that your inventory could only be photographed with an aerial view camera! That visual has left an indelible mark in my mind.

AUTHENTICATE This COACH

Please post authenticity questions related to COACH in this thread.

Note: The PurseForum requests that only members with an extensive knowledge of the brand and authenticating who have over 500 posts participate as authenticators in this AT thread. The moderators reserve the right to remove authentications that do not meet these requirements.

Please follow the following rules:

  • Before you submit a request for authentication, please search this thread to make sure that the item has not previously been authenticated. This is not a thread to ask general questions about COACH, please refer to our main Coach forum for such information.
  • This is a free service, but it is imperative that you help our authenticators by using the following format:

    Item:
    Listing number:
    Seller:
    Link:
    Comments:

  • If the bag in question is not on an auction site, please use the following:

Item Name (if you know it):
    Link (if available):
Then attach any photos (all authentication must include photos.)
    • Please be sure to include a clear readable photo of the creed stamp and serial number from inside the bag or accessory if there is one, and the bag's measurements when the bag is an older or vintage leather Coach.
    • Since mid-2014, Coach stopped putting serial numbers on creeds so in newer bags where the creeds don't have serial numbers, we also need to see pictures of the labels/tags from inside the bag. They are either both in the main open part sewn into the seam of the lining, or one might be buried deep inside the zipper pocket. One shows where made and the other has a serial number.

  • Do NOT PM an authenticator or moderator to request authentication. Any and all such requests should be posted in this thread.

Thx for your reply! I LOVE LeSportsac products -- and they seem reasonably priced, for such a good-quality product, I think.

Hi there. I bought this basic bag on Mercari recently. The hand strap is very obviously fake, hard, mismatched vinyl. Ugh. However, the bag itself looks pretty nice. The leather on the shoulder strap seems nice too, but the hardware seems odd with the tiny anchor and "2." Do you think any of this is authentic? Thanks for your help!

The bag and the long strap are genuine.

Hi Authenticators,

I'm not sure where else to post this question, so I figure I would start in this thread.
Is this a Coach creed for a pilot or sample bag? I could not find a style number anywhere. TIA

View attachment 3807497
It's not a valid style number. That is one of those creed numbers they were using for awhile that had no relation to the actual style of the bag. I've never seen one with all zeroes. What does the bag look like? If it is truly a pilot or sample bag, it can't be authenticated.
