Can someone tell me what I just bought? I thought it was a Stewardess because of the feet, but the top of the flap isn't right and the pocket doesn't have a zip. I know the consensus on Poshmark here, but if anyone wants to give me their thoughts I would appreciate it. Thank you [emoji4]

I really don't know what it is . There aren't any measurements and no photo of it with the flap open, and the way it's photographed I can't see if the strap buckles are supposed to be in that facing-forward position Hippie-style or if they've just been twisted around for the photo. The standard Stewardess Strap also has brass grommets and this one doesn't, maybe this is a replacement strap. I don't know if the Stewardess was ever made without a zipper on the inside pocket either. But the top edge of this bag looks like it has a Hippie-style seam rather than a folded-over front flap so I doubt very much if it's a Stew - Coach may have made a style like that but I can't identify it, maybe if any of our vintage specialists are reading this, they can take a look.

We need measurements of the bag AND the exact strap length end to end, a photo of the bag with the flap open showing what's under the flap and if the flap is one solid un-seamed piece or if it's hippie-style with a flat top edge and a seam, and a pic of the side of the bag with the strap arranged so that we can see how it's attached.

Hi All,
I purchased this bag from Ebay from a seller that claimed the bag was authentic and from a smoke free home. The bag smells like it was in a smoke filled bar20170620_230904_Film2.jpeg20170620_230904_Film2.jpeg and the serial number is screaming fake to me. I am coming here for a second opion. Thank you in advance. 20170620_230904_Film2.jpeg20170620_230921_Film2.jpeg20170620_231023_Film2.jpeg20170620_230941_Film2.jpeg20170620_230802_Film2.jpeg

What do you think is fake about the serial number???

If you want to return it to the seller because of the smoke smell, then contact the seller. The bag itself is genuine.

Thank you, Hyacinth, for your feedback. I know the United Airlines Stewardess has a strap like this one, without the grommets - but the ones I've seen also have a zipper inside. I thought maybe it could be a hippie flap type bag too, but the base seems so wide compared to others I've had/seen for that type of style.
Idk, maybe it's a magical unicorn bag, but I get the feeling it's been modified from whatever it was originally - and I've had too many of those of late! I asked the seller to cancel. She's not obligated to, so we'll see what happens.
Thanks again for your input!

The too-wide base is what worries me too, most of the other Hippie styles I can remember, and I'm sure I haven't seen all of them, are usually flat or with narrow bases so they sit close to the body, except for a vintage green suede version posted a while back but that had several vertical leather stripes down the front and no turnlock. I've never seen a style with these exact details before, but I'm not as familiar with true vintage, especially 30 years old or more, as some of our other members. Whateve is on vacation but maybe when she comes home she can take a look.
