Out of curiosity may I ask what is it? An hybrid early version of a Taft spawned by a Large Courier Pouch sometime after the late 1970s (I can't really read the creed or decipher the ident number below it)?

I'll provide that the underside of the "tongue" looks a bit odd to me. All the "tongues" I have,, the upper edge of the smooth leather backing doubler on the inside surface is cut square and terminates at the top of the parallel portion of the "tongue" (not contoured like what's shown in the photo). And what's with the corroded looking buckle? I've plenty of pre-creed bags with buckle attached adjustable straps, all of which have the lighter gauge buckles (and straps with ungrommeted holes). My 1970s bags have the more significant "solid brass" buckles. Patina and tarnish, yes. Scratches yes. But none of the buckles I've seen have looked like the one shown in this listings photos
I'm sorry I missed this discussion and never got to see the original listing. I have an unidentified bag which might be similar in my files that looks like this. Was it similar?

Indeed it was. So there we have other #9964 Cody bag. Still somewhat odd to find an example of style that appears to have had limited appeal with a questionable creed stamp. Then again, I don't profess to know how the fakers think other than to expect them to focus on the popular styles. Maybe, with a MSRP of $304 in 1994 they thought that they'd be opportunities to undercut the legit market, Also, the style is not a stretch for anyone already faking Taft bags.

Please ID if possible. Thank you!

It's a Studio Bag from the Lightweight line, style number 4081 and made around 1991-92. The listing describes it as a crossbody, but Coach lists the strap as 36 inches, so depending on your height it might not be able to be worn that way.

Numbers 1 and 3 look ok. Number 2 needs a creed photo but so far we haven't run across any fake Bridle Totes.

It appears authentic. I think it looks like part of the Lightweights collection but I don't have anything like it in my files. The closest style I have is a later one that is lined.

Do you have a catalog picture? I don't have this one in my files.

Yes, all the prior listings and "sales" (apparently never paid for) for the fake Cody have been removed.
I did save a copy of the main photo from the listing:

Thank you!

I believe it is fake. I agree the buckle looks terrible. It isn't the same shape as other buckles used in the same era, and it shouldn't be corroded like that. The grommets look silver. The strap keeper thingy on the front of the bag doesn't match any I've seen on any other bags. It has stitching in places I don't see on any courier pouches or saddle pouches I've owned. The Coach cartouche at the top of the creed is too narrow for the era of the creed.

Looking at this bag and I just don't know.. what does it mean by a "second" bag?

I suspect the seller is referring to the bullet imprint on the upper right corner of the creed stamp indicating that the bag is not retail store "first" quality.
