Hi - I have in my possession two Legacy Zip Hobos and I'm afraid one of them might not be authentic.
The black one measures 10.5 x 9 x 4.5 and the brown is slightly larger 10.5 x 9.5 x 5
Opinions please? Thanks mucho!

Not only is the serial number font in the brown one completely wrong, but the Legacy Leather Hobo style 9058 wasn't even introduced until the Fall-Holiday 2000 catalogs

Good Morning Everyone!

This came up in one of my searches, I suspect it’s a fake but would appreciate your expert opinion.

Very vintage authentic pre creed Coach handbag - very special collectors piece

TIA!

I've never seen it but I don't think it's fake.

Wait for Whateve to take a look.

LOL! I was going to say the same thing as Hyacinth and since I'd already quoted, I decided to post anyway.

I don't think it's fake either.
I agree, it looks fine. I don't recall ever seeing this style but the Coach plaque looks exactly right. It is one of the later versions with the cartouche frame. I would guess early 70s.

Comments: Just browsing ebay (this forum is very enabling!) and I believe the last line of this creed reads "Made in Korea". Along with the poor spacing of "coachbag" and the "green zipper", I think this one is a fake?

We don't even need to see photos. ANY handbag, travel or business bag that says Made In Korea is ALWAYS fake. There are a lot of other problems too. Some fake wallets also came from that country.

Korea did produce a few clothing items for Coach, but no bags.

Yep, I've been studying the guides! The "Korea" is pretty blurry but I'm 98% that's what it says, just wanted to double-check before reporting. I'm learning! :D

The "SacsMagnifiques1941 Guide to Vintage Hangtags and Creeds" at Ebay shows several different metal plaques used at various times. Both the plaques you posted are identical to photos in her Guide.

I've over 50 mid-1960s to 1971 "metal tagged" bags and will confirm that several different sizes, styles, and fonts were employed during that period. One of these days I'll get around to cataloging the ones I have. The bag in question looks remarkably similar to one that I bid on (but didn't win) a couple of months ago, albeit the current listing is certainly pricier. The unique color and style are what attracted me then and I'll suggest that this is perhaps the same one, which I considered to be authentic based on what the pictures revealed.

You read it right.

I brightened/lightened the picture and it's clearly "Korea."

Hi again!
I'm afraid I'm going to drive you all crazy today. I have 27 bags I've recently bought. IMO, they all look authentic. I'm afraid to put any of them up on any site though, w/o checking with y'all first.

It's authentic.

I appreciate that you're authenticating before listing! Thank you. Too few sellers do that.
