Thanks for your kind words. If you are still interested and you've had positive experiences with this seller in the past, perhaps they will also let you return if you don't like it so you can at least see.

Or at least, I would ask for a very close-up of the CHANEL MADE IN stamp so you can see just how bad the job was when they painted inside the letters

You totally deserve it Roku! I know how much time and effort you dedicate to this role and how thankless it can be. I'm just wanting to ensure you know your service is extremely valued!! :hugs:

I am still interested as it is such a pretty bag and the seller is wonderful. Therefore, I really appreciate your suggestions about how I might get a better indication as to how the redyeing has affected the bag's quality. Thanks again! :smile1:

Due to all the superfakes on the market etc, we are unable to verify Classic, Reissue and Boy bags from the 17 million series forward. You can try consulting one of the rec, paid services but most of them won't authenticate via pics alone and will want to see the bag in person.

A post from Roku worth repeating-

Reminder to everyone - make sure that you do what you need to do to make sure that the bag in the pictures is the one you are actually receiving. Read more here.

I am not very good at sleuthing the seller as POA and gail13 are, and this being one of the most high traffic AT threads, looking at photos alone and glancing at seller's profile is usually what I do. Sometimes, POA or others will helpfully prompt me about something regarding the listing/seller integrity that makes the authentication moot so I will move on. While I sometimes may, I often do not go through the seller's history, etc., because I don't want to burn out (I used to do that, a lot, and spent like 15 minutes on each seller but it could go on forever). And it's a slippery slope... because at the end of the day I still don't know or can't tell the seller's intentions oftentimes. So I stopped looking at every seller's past sales, etc. The only thing I can be certain about is what I see in the pictures. This is also why I stopped authenticating Tradesy because most of those pictures are stolen and the company actually tolerates it, so if I have to worry about that every time, then it's just a lost cause.

Please know this when you request authentication, that I may authenticate the bag in the pictures but really everything else (making sure that's the same bag being shipped to you) you will need to do to protect yourself.

Questions to ask yourself:
Does the seller have a history of selling items at this price point, or even a history of selling? Could that be of concern?
What happens if something goes wrong? Am I confident this seller (or the platform) will make things easy for me?
What if I don't like the item or it's not as I expected? What options does the seller give?
Does the seller really have this item in their possession? How can I be sure?
Could I be in danger physically (if this is for a $6,000 purchase and the Craigslist seller wants to meet me at a non-secure location instead of the middle of a bank, airport or mall) or do I have to worry about being followed home?
etc etc etc...
If your Chanel auth request was skipped, this could be why.

History of the bag: From an estate
Comments: Seller said bag was from an estate sale and in excellent condition. The seller is having a tough time getting pics of the serial number.

Thanks much for all that you do!
