Item: Chanel Wallet on a chain

I took photos
History: My friend just bought this from friend of friend. It did not come with an authenticity card.

We are fairly clueless. We've searched and searched, but not found the exact print/pattern that is on this wallet anywhere else. It seems well-made, and the serial number seems authentic, but... Thank you for any assistance you can give us.

Comments: the owner of the bag purchased it in Paris from a reseller for $2700US. She said that people who resell their bags to consignment shops tear off the serial number tags. Anyone heard of this before? She said you can see a bit of the white where it was once before.

Serial numbers have sometimes been peeled off if the bag has been stolen and then sold on or if the bag is fake.
Re- authenticity- There aren't enough photos of the bag to say if fake or not also note that the regular expert authenticators will only authenticate if there is a link to an online listing. Please check post 2 for photos necessary for authentication.

THANK YOU!!! Ladies for authenticating the bag and for the additional information about the seller. I am sending the bag back today and my PayPal dispute was escalated to a claim (by PayPal). Fingers crossed I get my money back. This was my first Chanel. Hopefully my second purchase will be authentic. I was so stupid not to get it authenticated here first!!!! :shame: I have been purchasing other designer bags for years and have gotten good spotting other designer fakes. I just got lazy.
Anyway, thanks again. I will let you know how it turns out.

I'm not a Chanel authenticator but I wanted to comment on the seller, ashbabe (on Bonanza) and ashbabe2010 (on ebay).

In this post, the seller had another fake Chanel on Bonz, also with the same baloney about the reason there was no hologram sticker as she'd posted in the listing you purchased:

Yet using her ebay ID, she had the same turquoise bag listed with most of the same pictures but without the missing hologram excuse:
