Hi experts, can you please authenticate this vintage Chanel bag from circa 1982. It is a private sale. There is no serial number, but the seller told me that Chanels from the early 80s do not have serial numbers? Also, the seller said her sister bought it from a Chanel store in NYC in approximately 1982. Thank you!!

Not an authenticator and they don't do private sales as a rule but this is a fake...seller is not being truthful with you about her sister purchasing at Chanel boutique.

I can't tell you why I know it's a fake but I am positive that it is. Sharing that info on a public forum could give tips to the counterfeiters lurking about on how to make more convincing fakes

Please feel free to wait for one of the regular authenticators if you'd like...they have just been very busy!

2) Seller: eBay, don't remember
3) Photographer: couple from original listing, I took the rest
4) History: I purchased this LONG ago (ebay) only used a few times before throwing in the back of my closet. I have a few authentic ones & only now am I becoming concerned that it may be fake.
5) Comments: the magnetic clasp works great, strong "click" sound. The chain strap doesn't feel very substantial, but what do I know?

Do you have a picture of the hologram (not just the card)? That will help the regular authenticators tell whether this bag is fake or not....

Hi, the regular authenticators do not authenticate private sales- only sales that have link to online auction.
