On the zipper the right C is under , not over left C.. That is a typical sign of being fake, isn't it?

No, not necessarily on some vintage bags. Sometimes you will encounter that detail backwards. Or encounter vintage bags where the right C totally overlaps the left C.

There have been many changes and inconsistencies on Chanel bags through the years, especially on the early vintage bags. That's why it's so important to always check out all of the details and not automatically deem a bag fake when something might seem off.

Hello, I bought these earrings a couple of days ago on eBay, seller said some of the items produced in 1980-85 had different markings, but I'm no expert. Please help me authenticate these earrings. Only one had the Chanel stamp on the back ...?? Many thanks ladies.

Hi, first of all, as it says in the thread title, we have a posting format. Please see post #1 of this thread. Second, I'm not a custome jewelry expert, so you could either wait until someone comes along who can help you out, or you could try this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/the-jewelry-box/authenticate-this-jewelry-or-seller-30027-468.html or you could use one of the third party authentication services outside this forum.

There is a serial number directly under the Made in France stamp it reads, C592.
Have asked for pics, will add when i receive.

Thanks Nat, here is the best close up I can crop from original. I have asked for another close up but I may not get it in time. I was dubious about the logo. swell. Good to hear there are sometimes discrepancies. Thanks very much for all your help.

Hi again. I forget to add that I meant the engraving on the interior zipper pull, not the exterior one. Sorry for the confusion :smile1:
