I'd appreciate an opinion on this Brahmin bag. I own several and thought I was a pretty good judge but I'm doubting this purchase. It just doesn't feel right and nothing says Brahmin except the hang tag. There's absolutely nothing inside to indicate it's a real Brahmin bag.

This is the ebay listing...I can take more pictures if need be. The seller claims she bought the bag herself from a department store.

I certainly appreciate your help.

Lots of red flags for me on this one. I think this must be an older bag if it is a Brahmin but there is no pen hook or key fob inside. Older Brahmins with this lining had those two things along with a pocket and a zipper area. It was a real trademark for them.

There would be a small tag inside showing made in likely USA being an older style.

Edited to add: other listings call this a Cecilia -- it looks more familiar in solid black or woven tan fabric and brown leather.

Did it come with the older style sleeper?

Thanks so much...I feel so stupid buying this bag without paying more attention. It's way past the time frame to file a case against the seller but may still try with my credit card company. Unfortunately, the purchase date is before Paypal's new 6 month dispute policy goes into effect....so I'm likely s*#t out of luck. Bad me...bad me. It certainly leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I want so badly to let the seller know...what? Nothing I guess. She just pulled one over on me.

It didn't come with a sleeper.

Yes, it is a pretty bag for sure but it doesn't smell like leather at all. I'll just chalk this up to a mistake on my part.

Yes, I've looked at the black one you referenced and any others I could find on ebay or other purse selling websites. I do find it strange the listing for the black one describes the pen loops and key fob but they're not seen at all.

I looked inside my Brahmin bags and all do have the key fob (keeper) and pen loops in clear sight and would show in photographs.

Occasionally a purchase just doesn't work out. Thanks again for your opinion and help.

Hi, I picked this up the other day at a consignment store really just because I loved the bag. Didn't know if it was real or not and didn't have time to research it at the time. The stitching is perfect, all even. There is an outside pen holder or loop, whichever you prefer. It has a very strong magnetic closure. The purse appears to have never been used - like it was a gift and someone didn't like it.
