Comments: Hello lovely ladies of tPF. I'd appreciate your thoughts regarding authenticity. Do you know how old the bag is? Do you recall the original price & is it priced well?
Thank you so much, I always appreciate all that you do.

This looks like it's from the Fenice style bag collection from Spring-Summer 2006. Since this is a limited edition it's not in the catalogs, so no prices are available unless someone remembers seeing one of these and can tell us. I see no warning signs--it appears to be authentic. From the dimensions it would be the size of a medium Veneta.

Sorry I can't be of more help. The limited edition bags are sometimes hard to pin down on details.

Thank you kindly boxermom. If anyone can add anything, I'd certainly be grateful. My best to all of you!

I can actually add something to this. See the word Omotesando? This was a bag made to celebrate the opening of BV in the Omotesando Hills shopping center in the Harajuku section of Tokyo. I believe it was indeed a 2006 bag. I see these from time to time on eBay. Maybe it is even the same one. It is made from Karung. The bag for auction looks a little dry, but with some skill the reptile can be conditioned. If I were buying it, I would send it to BV to condition. It could be a little tricky with the embroidery.

I do not recall the original price, but for something reptile with the embroidery detail, I'm sure it was over $3000 us....even in 2006.

dear ladies ,

please authenticate this leather clutch knot, its been around for a while and no one mentioned anything and its still on for bids.

Item Name : BOTTEGA VENETA Brown Leather Knot Clutch Bag NEW
Seller name or ID: b.swank
Working Link: 370456754441
Comments: The seller is a luxury reseller and lists editorial coverage of reviews of his website from The FT , The New York Times etc ie reputable.

However, I find only the gift box look familiar, the rest like the inscription in both the knot and inside the knot, as well as the sleeper bag look unfamiliar to me.
Is this authentic ?

Hi, the box and sleeper are from different design periods so no worries there as both appear authentic. I believe this to be an authentic vintage knot clutch. Hard to give a 100% opinion, though, since very few of these vintage ones are still around to examine. You may want to get more opinions :smile1:

Comments: Hi, would someone please authenticate this for me pretty please? Also is this a good buy? It is going to be my very first BV purchase, I'm so excited!!!

Hi, although I see no glaring warning signs, we are missing some of the most important pictures needed to authenticate. Please see post 1 of this thread for what's needed including front/back of authenticity tag :smile1:

We're not allowed to comment on price in this thread, but if you ask in the main shopping forum, I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses!

^^dotsdots, I can tell you that a new wallet in this style is $660 USD. This price is easily found on the BV website. The thing about pricing questions and value is that it is totally up to you, and we cannot say if a wallet bought for that price is a good deal to you. This is why we don't comment on that.

I understand where you're coming from, jburgh. I guess I meant it in the way like a $300 Kate Spade wallet as shown on the website is not a good deal because they all go on a 50% sale after some time. I'm not sure how frequent/much discount BV offers over in the US, hence my question. But no worries about it, I now know this is the wrong place to ask!

Also thanks Miss_FancyBags for the quick reply. I'll ask the seller for more photos and post them here :)
