Thanks, friends :)

I appreciate the multiple votes of confidence. Miss_FancyBags, I know you're amazing and I trust your opinion implicitly but I'm just too anxious to give my mom a fake! OCD tendencies of a future law student, I suppose :D

I totally understand (I used to be a financial auditor); the more qualified opinions, the better! If I were to buy a Hermes bag (which I know nothing about), I'd want as many opinions as possible for those prices!!

Congratulations on such a fantastic purchase!! :smile1:

Would you ladies please authenticate this, if possible? I have asked the seller for additional authentification, but have not received it. Are you familiar with this seller?
Thank You

Hi, we need more information to authenticate. The front and back of the authenticity tag is a must along with an up close view of the plaque and the branded part of the lock, etc. (see first post in this thread for more details). I'm assuming those are the pictures you've asked for?

Also, I think Bookermoose has this bag...you may want to PM her to get her opinion :smile1:

She really liked it. I bought her a Kate Spade a couple weeks back but she off-handedly mentioned she'd like a BV. She wants a purse but I figured a wallet is a good "gateway piece [read: DRUG]".

I can't believe it was only $99!!!! Still in awe.

Does anyone know the name of color and/or season?

The color code is Ebano, the classic dark brown that is produced every season, so specific year is hard to guess.

I do have this bag but I'm not familiar with this seller. No warning signs based just on the pictures proviced, but I wholeheartedly agree that we need the further information requested to authenticate. I think this bag has been on eBay several times now with a steadily reducing price - original price was $5500 in the boutiques.

Thank you for responding so quickly, yes I requested additional information, and the reply I received in return stated "this is guaranteed authentic, not to worry-will refund your money is you are not completely satisfied" she doesn't seen to be willing to provide anything more-her response was to my second request for verification. I won't make the purchase without the additional info, been burned once, learned my lesson(fortunately PayPal saved me on that one-the seller is still on ebay though). If I get any additional documentation, I will post it. Thanks anyway, thought someone here might know and vouch for the seller.

Thank you also, everyone here is so pleasant and knowledgeable.

This is one beautiful handbag you must love it. If you don't mind, since you have it, I would like to ask you a couple of questions about this bag. Do you use this bag often, and if so, how is it holding up? I have three BVs now, one more delicate (nappa) than the others-superficially scratches easily, so I use it only for special occasions. The others are deerskin and pebbled leather-true workhorses, but none of them are woven. On another purse blog, someone indicated the woven bags are more delicate, and do not wear as well, due to their woven nature. I have seen these bags new, and admire the quality of these bags, but have never seen an aged bag.

^ You're welcome.

Firstly, if this is the same bag that has been up several times lately with a steadily reducing price, as I believe it is, you would think the Seller would make the relatively small effort to provide the additional information to someone who has actually expressed interest in it... strange.

As for how the woven nappa wears, I have a number of Montaignes, including this one, and although they have a slight bit of wear on the corners after a while (because of the shape), and the handles may darken slightly on the lighter colours, I would certainly not consider them delicate or that being woven makes them any more susceptible to damage. I can only think of one person in the almost three years that I have been here who has reported that the weave got caught on something and ripped. I do take care of my BVs, but I also do use them - and in particular I have a couple of Nero (black) woven BVs that I probably even abuse a bit because I am not worried about them getting wet or stained because of the colour.

Thank you very much for your insight. I love my BVs and have other bags to use when I'm just schlepping around and they might get damaged. We have a saying here on the Gulf Coast of Texas, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few minutes, it will change."-so I have stayed with Nero and Ebano so far.
Thanks again for your wisdom, I really would like to have a woven bag; and as with anything, it is always good to listen to more than one opinion and make the most informed decision possible.

Comments: Is it AUTH? If so what color is this?

This looks like the light gold metallic cabat seen in a runway picture. If the seller would send the numbers on the back of the auth tag (too hard to see in the picture), that would help along with pic of plaque that we could read. If it's the color code I think, it's a light gold metallic that may have some wear on it, hence the lower price...

At this time, I can't state it's authentic, but I don't see any warning signs. :smile1:

Just a note to add that the seller has apparently ended the listing for this item on ebay, thanks to all of you for your assistance.
