Thank you, Muchstuff! Do you know what season/year it was made? This is agneau, correct? Also, from what I understand, Velo bags always come with a long crossbody strap. I think mine has been shortened, it's only 56 cm (22 in) in length.
As far as I know 2010 was the first year for the Velo so it would be agneau. Yours looks like a 2010 based on the tag back. It sounds like your strap was shortened, mine are all around 36" -37" ish without the bales. I'd like to see how they shortened it, can you tell?

It seems they just cut it in the middle! But strangely enough, I actually prefer this bag with a short shoulder strap. The bag ends just at the wrist level, exactly how I like my bags to be. I looked at the pictures of the Velo with the strap intact and I just don't think I would've liked it on me quite as much with a crossbody strap... Also, worth mentioning, I got this baby for $175, so I'm not complaining!

Already moisturized the leather, will give it a second layer tonight.

The leather looks good, 2010 is one of my faves. I double the strap so I can shoulder wear mine so I can see why you like the length.

Thank you, the leather improved quite a lot after a bit of TLC. Can't wait to switch into it! I'll post pictures when I'm done working on it. Also, I was glad to see that the stitching on the handles had been replaced - the stitching on my City is quite frayed and it doesn't look particularly nice.

Looking forward to your mod shots!
