Hi!!! Newbie here. I bought a preowned flat messenger bal 177289 497717. Can anyone check if this is authentic? I did some sleuthing online and it appears to be the real deal. Thoughts? Thanks!!!! :)

Welcome to the group.
Please see my signature for pictures required for authentication. Once you get these from the seller, resubmit your request & someone will help you out.

Obviously no one wants to assist. Thanks for much

Just wanted to say, with all due respect, that while it can be frustrating to not receive info on a particular bag, you were in fact answered. Peacebabe remarked that she was unable to help you and pointed out that the paper tag for this bag doesn't belong to it. If other authenticators haven't offered an opinion, perhaps a paid service might be what you need.

Please keep in mind that the PFers authenticating for us are all volunteers. They kindly share their time and expertise and should be respected for that. I wish you luck with your authentication!

Hello,
Believe me it isn't that they don't want to help you-
Those "F" tag bags are VERY difficult and I respect the fact that the gals don't just give you their "best guess".

If they deem a bag genuine or fake they want to be sure. Think of how bad it would be if they were wrong.. Either way, if they were incorrect it would not be a good thing.
There are a few other authenticators here but they only pop in very rarely..I have the utmost faith in PeaceBabe, MMD and the other gals here- but if they say they aren't sure, it's because they really aren't sure.

There is a dead giveaway with Bal and it shouldn't be the ONLY factor in judging a bag but genuine Bal leather bags have a very specific scent. Once you smell it- you know it.
Obviously the only person that can smell your bag is you- but this will give you a clue to it's authenticity.
If you are concerned & need to know quickly, like Muchstuff, I recommend using a service, it's affordable $7.00 or perhaps $10.00. Authenticate4U has a good reputation and you already have all the required photos. :smile1:

I would like to take this oppty to remind that it's end of the year. Many people may be on holiday. And as what muchstuff has kindly mentioned, all authenticators in TPF are volunteered. We will help as much as we can during our available time.

At the same time, for those who's seeking for authentication, when you didn't get any reply, kindly ask yourself "have i submitted all necessary photos?". I must admit that i do, at times, skip some post as some members just post what they have, not what is needed (obviously they didn't check the rules) I find it so amusing, or rather ironical, that at times, some authenticators like Conni, Sssy & i got to "Thank" & praise members for posting good photos for us. I must really thank some kind soul here who are always helping out by asking members to post "necessary photos". (You know who you are ;) )

It's easy when a bag is a straight forward "yes" or "no". But as long as the authenticators spotted or feel "something" is not right, we rather suggest you go for paid authentication service. I do hope all members appreciate the fact that we are taking your hard earn money seriously instead of "betting" on it.

We are all Bal lovers here. We will, and lets help each other in ways we can :D;):smile1:

Authenticators will also need to see front & underside of (inner) tag

I can't offer more help than Atlantis, peacebabe, muchstuff and PikaboICU, though I do want to mention that I attempted to find your original photos a bit ago, and didn't have time to track them down. It is very important to repeatedly upload the pics, or the post numbers whenever referring us back to a bag, even if it must be done several times.

I did find your photos by way of earlier postings with referral numbers this morning.

I can see peacebabe's concerns, but can add that the high shine on the leather and the slightly off angle on the bale and zipper head are making a decision difficult. Paper tags get mixed up, but if you want to post another couple of photos of the bale (try to get a straight on angle from both sides) as well as the zip head straight on, be sure to refer us back to the original photos, and one of us will try to take a second look.

Received this and want to make sure I'm good.

Hopefully you can help with additional items. Otherwise I completely understand
Thanks
