I've been authenticating bags here for several years, off and on, and have seen the counterfeits become so very good, including perfect hardware, that it is a huge challenge to ferret them out. In the end, all we offer here are opinions. Opinions based on seeing hundreds of photos of authentic and counterfeit bags, but educated as they are, they are still fallible.

I hope you will feel free to voice a differing opinion on any bag that appears here, and certainly this thread welcomes the seller of a bag that has been discussed to join in, perhaps with additional photos, especially if the originals are poor..

Thank U Conni and Redskater for Your reply`s.
I hope i can make some more time in the future to come and help U over here.
Have a nice weekend and love and hugs to U FX

Thank you! Please do jump in any time you can. This thread requires a group effort to work well. When knowledgeable folks are willing to check and re-check decisions, the more confident we can be.

Hello Ladies!

Help!

I purchased my first City second hand in 2012. My beautiful bag gets a lot of attention and although I trust the seller I have been looking to authenticate the bag and colour/year ever since!

I don't have the tags any longer - unfortunately, they've been lost between moving boxes somewhere along the way.

Lately the hardware has been experiencing tarnish, perhaps due to living in humid conditions for a couple of months at a time? I've read that this isn't a bad sign as far as authenticity goes.

I would be ever so gratelful for your insight and opinions;) - it was Love at first sight after all :p

Thank You all!

1) not sure on this one. can you get a close up pic of the rivet and repost with the original link and have another authenticator take a look.

2) not enough pics, see my link for pics needed.
