The sunglasses are not authentic Prada. The easiest way to tell authentic Prada is by the letter "R" in the brand.

Although Prada is printed in block, straight-edged letters, the "R" has a little curly-cue thingy that most replicas don't bother to detail or they make it a straight line.

Attached is an example of an authentic PRADA brand (see last photo). See the little curly-cue thingy in the middle of the letter "R".

I've attached two photo of fake Prada Logos/brands. No curly-cue thingy just a straight line in one photo. And the first photo is really bad with no definition to any of the block letters.

There is so much fake Prada on the net now, that I had a hard time finding an authentic Prada logo!

Sorry Martin but I don't think the scarf is authentic Cartier.

The Cartier logo in the middle of the scarf is much too heavy and thick for Cartier. I did find a Cartier Scarf that has a much better medallion logo, similar to the scarf you posted and you can see a difference. I will attach the photo of the scarf so you can compare.

In your detail photo which a little difficult to see due to the fabric not laying completely flat and being silk it is a bit shiny. But in the detail Cartier logo I don't see a little blob on the end of the last "r" in Cartier. The little blob could be there but because of the fabric I just can't see it.

The main thing about the Cartier logo is that is very fluid and perfectly executed. If you put a ruler at the top of all the lower case letters, including the cross in the "t", every letter should be exactly even. Same thing goes for the bottom of the all the letters including the capital "C". If there are any letters over or under the ruler, you can bet it's not authentic Cartier. But because silk is a slippery fabric, lining up a ruler might not be easy.

Once you get to know these little idiosyncrasies of each Designers logo, it's easy to spot the fakes.

But please do not do a google search for a designers logo, because you will find more fake logos then authentic. Go to the Designers website and copy the logo and keep it in a file for reference.

It's very rare that a Designer changes their logo and each logo has little things that make it unique but you do have to look and study them to see the difference.

Cartier and scarves are not my expertise so if anyone else has any input, please feel free to correct me.

I will attach some photos of Cartier Logos so you can compare:

The first Cartier logo is correct and the second photo is a fake. In the fake there are at least 2 mistakes, one mistake in the first "r" and one mistake in the second "r". Can you see them?

I hope you didn't win this auction because this scarf is not Alexander McQueen. Plus I don't think it's 100% silk either, it looks like a cotton blend to me.

The Alexander McQueen logo on the scarf is really bad. Alexander McQueen's logo is very evenly spaced with very precise letters. But on the scarf the letters in Alexander and McQueen are much too close, sometimes even touching, but definitely not evenly spaced. And the "Q" in McQueen is very bad.

I will attach a correct Alexander McQueen logo.

Thank you so much for your help.
I'm glad I didn't buy it:)

I'm not familiar with this designer but I would say it's a fake right away just because of the junky label! Look at the raveling, raw edges and zigzag sewing on the label. No designer in their right mind would allow a label like this!

I do like the scarf though!

But you can usually tell things are fake when Ebay is flooded with a certain brand. Lately on the Ebay sunglass forum there's been a rash of Dior Vintage Glasses called "Butterfly". Dior has never made a pair of eyewear called "Butterfly" and now I've noticed that the exact same fake Dior sunglasses are now being sold as Versage or Cazal. I guess just a little label change and you can sell to a different customer.

I think the next designer to peak on Ebay is Anna Sui. I've seen more and more Anna Sui Sunglasses but all are fake so far.

Thanks, very useful comments, you are right about the labels. but like you say it's a pretty scarf.

I think i will stick with buying from a reputable source until I know a little more about what I am buying

I have this briefcase with a number in it but has no designer name. Any clues?
