@Cassandra7695 , you did good not to resist! I wouldn’t either! Those are gorgeous purchases! Well done!

Thank you! I am a smidge over 5’4” and it hits about mid thigh on me, so actually a very good length for a long cardigan. It is a perfect match with the chain detail sandals I purchased in June  View attachment 5848234
@Sylly , absolutely gorgeous! Well done! Which boutique did you find these at? Each boutique and region seems to have unique pieces….did you purchase those gorgeous sandals from the same boutique? TIA

Hi @Sylly, I just wanted to commend your choice to buy at the Neiman Marcus store! I also have a question about your experiences.

I love the CHANEL experience within the boutiques but lately, they have started keeping lines of people outside their doors, waiting, just to enter.
Before the various lockdowns, it wasn’t like that at all.

Did you experience any waiting time and/or lines to enter the Cannes CHANEL Boutique?

I purchased the scarf, sandals and eyeglasses from the Milan Boutique on Via Sant’Andrea and we were in line for over 40 minutes.

The boutique was considerate in that they brought everyone in the line bottled water several times, but it was very hot outside.
Last week we were in Beverly Hills and wanted to shop at the Rodeo Drive CHANEL Boutique, especially when we saw that there wasn’t a long line outside.
Nonetheless, CHANEL SA’s informed us that without an “appointment” there would be a 45 minute wait.

At least the Rodeo Drive location has a nice, fairly shaded area where there are even a few seats. The Milan location has none of that….just standing on the sidewalk hoping for some shade.

Nonetheless, after the 40+minute wait in Milan, we had no intention of waiting another 45 minutes in Beverly Hills heat, so we just went shopping at our other favorite boutiques on Rodeo Drive.

So again, my hat’s off to you for your wise choice to buy CHANEL from Neiman Marcus!
No waiting outside. No lines. Seemless, air conditioned and fun, and rightfully so.

Are there any other CHANEL lovers who have experienced long lines and long waiting times to enter a CHANEL Boutique? And does anyone have any tips on how to avoid the long wait? (Other than making an appointment, per se.)

TIA

Oh I absolutely do not like the new system of having to wait outside for long periods.
My favorite SA is at the Neimans location, we (my bff and I) have been shopping with her for a little over 5 years, so we always make an appointment with her so we don’t have to wait. The day we went to see her, we arrived early and saw the boutique across the street (stand alone) didn’t have a line, so we popped over and I bought a pair of sneakers. But we would not have gone over if there was a line.
And we were also lucky in Cannes that there was no line either. We were able to go right in without an appointment.

We shopped up and down the Riviera, and I don’t think we ever had to wait in line, so it seems we had good timing. For instance, while at the Louis Vuitton in Nice, we walked right in, but as we were leaving I noticed a short line and could overhear that the people were not happy having to stand in the glaring sun outside - and I don’t blame them. I do not take the heat well at all. As a matter of fact we had originally planned on going in July, but my husband reminded me that I would not do well in the heat, so we changed our plans to mid June instead.
And The Hubs was right, it was a little cooler in June, and that little bit helped me not melt.

But looking back, we shopped in St. Tropez, Cannes, Nice and Monte Carlo, and never had to wait in a line. Part of that is we started our day trips early and beat the crowds. But we also did a little shopping later in the day, and just got lucky and had good timing and missed the lines.

Got this Coco Crush ring today. I love how the tiny diamonds are scattering, like stars

Love the ring. Is it gold or white gold? I can't really tell by the photo. I was on the fence about this ring for a while. I didn't get it only because I am concerned about weight fluctuations where I would end up not being able to resize. But it's gorgeous!
These are so gorgeous like a cake you don't want to eat.

I find that I can sometimes go to the store right when it opens. It think it's about staff shortages, mostly. PreCovid, there were not as many robberies. Now a SA must be available to escort you through a store.

Dear @Sylly , I so appreciate your kind solidarity. Thank you. And you brought up some very important points that CHANEL and other boutiques who make a practice of keeping clients waiting in long lines in unbearable heat, need to consider. Who knows how detrimental to good health those practices could be. Thank goodness that your husband was cautious and took steps to keep you from heat exhaustion. Shopping is supposed to be fun, not a health challenge. As for us, we must head to the French Riviera next time we’re in Europe. VCA has helped improve my relationship with luck (lol, but seriously, it has), so thanks to your post, I believe we can shop, line free, there.

Thank you, @Allisonfaye ! I hadn’t thought about it like that, but it makes perfect sense! Before lockdowns, most boutiques seemed much more staffed and that indeed makes a big difference. Shopping at boutique opening instead of during the day is a brilliant idea, thanks

A lovely souvenir from my August trip to Rome. It’s my first 19. I hadn’t considered one before, I couldn’t get past the hardware, but this color was so rich and beautiful, even nicer in person, I fell in love.

That's a beautiful colour!!! Is it caramel? NB356? Thanks

Just received my perfect baby pink mini. I'm blown away by the structure and it's gorgeous! From 23S.

I was offered the slightly dusty pink mini with camellia adjustable chain but I had my heart set on the classic mini. Had to go the reseller route and Orchmelia/Orchmellia was fantastic.

That's such a gorgeous shade of pastel pink!! So Very sweet and heart melting. U are making me fall in love with Chanel again:heart::heart::heart:

My first Chanel! - small classic flap ❤️

I am having doubts though - the chain when worn crossbody 'floats' and doesn't lie flush against the bag, I think because the end piece of the leather in the chain falls in that section of the chain. Is this a quality issue or normal for Chanel chains when worn crossbody?

It's not a defect. You can "move" or "slide" the length of the chain to be elsewhere in the other areas of the bag. Having said this, I would prefer the chains not touching the quilts of the bag at all lest the metal chain cause dents on the leather.
It's a beautiful bag . Enjoy it in good health and joy!

Aww, thank you so much. You said exactly what was in my head. I have fallen in love with Chanel again thanks to this pinkie. This is my first classic rectangle mini and I can see why the hype. And in soft baby pink it's like none other!
