I have both but prefer flap. I feel it's easier to open and slimmer than a zippy. I just bought a Modalu Pippa wallet which has both - a zipped compartment and a snap closure one. I love it and I have been using it alot. Right now I'm back to one of my mini wallets but I find it annoying when I have to look for the tiny wallet in my huge tote so might be switching back to Pippa or Lumi Sylvi pretty soon.

Sure. Here is mine I looked high and low and stumbled on this by accident.

I really do love it. That's how I prefer my cards to sit. That top space is for the DL. I removed it for the pic. [emoji6]

Hope it helps!

Very nice wallet pandorabox!

I have both and use both, but aesthetically I prefer a flap

I have a Gucci croc zip-round wallet for cards/a little paper cash/ the odd coin. I usually use this with a Gucci separate, small, simple, zip-round coin purse. the disadvantages are that something may get caught in the zip or worse in my hurry I may yank and bust the zip (I'm very strong and always in a stupid hurry).

The flap wallet is a Hermes red combined Dogon wallet that has a separate (zipped) purse inside. It has a leather part that is threaded back through a button rather than a popper. I think it's the best wallet. I've had it more than a year and what I like best is it's forgiving and very versatile.

I have 2 zips and a flap. I find I use the flap more, but like both styles. The zip is harder to get cards in and out of but OTOH things inside are more secure. I'm no help, sorry:p

You pretty much nailed it, I have a zippered style now and while I do like it immensely - it's been about 3 years and other than very small tiny leather goods ( to fit into small flap bags - lol!) I am ready for a change. I have my eye on a Celine flap style wallet, but I have NEVER - ugh had a flap wallet! This has been very helpful and interesting too - I am pretty sure I had not even given thought to a portrait/ book style wallet, so now that is an option I want to explore. Again I believe it is the aesthetic value of the flap wallet that I am drawn to, but as I have learned in the past sometimes aesthetic's do not equal functionality. Plus for me since I transfer my larger wallet anyway from bag to bag I use it more than any one bag I own .

I agree, although I also find that using the zipper style also means keeping my contents more orderly, compared to with the flap style. With the flap, which I carried for years and years, I would just mash my receipts in there, but with the zippy it's more organized into compartments and I take the time to put things in their place.

I carry a MASSIVE Tumi Travel Wallet. It's similar to this:

Mine is no longer made but the layout is almost identical. I have it in a bright grassy lime green and a bright Hermes Orange. I am currently carrying orange. It's fun but it's MASSIVE. I am going to be downsizing soon, and want a smaller version of this same layout, so that Spartina one seems perfect...

Yea, massive is like...epic understatement, they also are not particularly light weight. In my purse it fits great, but since I am going to downsize to a smaller bag soon, it's a little much. The layout is EXACTLY perfect for me though. Finding this layout in a smaller size will be difficult! The one shown above is the closest I've ever seen.

I bought two of mine when they were going on sale for discontinuation, and I got TWO of them for the price of one, which was still like $250 I think. I have had them now for I think 4 years probably and they still look brand new. I carried the green one daily for almost 3 years before I switched to the orange last fall to change it up, and it's still in fabulous shape. But they hold all my crap, receipts and boarding paperwork, passport when I carry it, etc. The leather is amazing, the quality is bar none. I've had salespeople at high end stores, even Hermes comment on them.

Oh thank you so much. I would love to see the inside of a Dogon in person.
