For larger wallets with the inside coin zip, that zipper can get in the way with the main zipper but it's a minor thing IMO.
For wallets carried inside bags--prefer trifold with snap(s).
Have proven plenty secure & take less fuss to open/close in busy checkout lines.
Also, zero risk of snags/scratches from zipper teeth.
I do like coin pockets to be zippered.
I have trifolds with both zippered & snap coin compartments--& coins do slip out of exterior snapped one.
Hope this helps.
I prefer the classic and timeless look of flap wallets, but from a functionality standpoint, I always come back to zip-arounds. Easier to toss in coupons and receipts, then just zip it up and go.
I have found as much as I do not like zippers they are more secure. I used and prefer a zip wallet which opens flat like a book and cards go east to west so I can see the tops and not the sides. I prefer it to open up book like so I can see everything all at once. Zip it back up and then have a Wristlet strap. I believe those are considered more passport / continental style.
I will seek that style out and investigate. I am sure I have not looked at the open/ book - portrait style with a zipper. Thank you!
