Can I get a little help ladies? I've seen the bag below referred to as legacy, pinnacle and bohemian and I'm guessing it's not all of those things:lol:. From what I've been able to figure out it's a Pinnacle bag (higher price point?) and the style is a bohemian duffle. Can I get some info on what constitutes a legacy bag, (for instance, do they ALL have the stripey lining?), how it differs from a pinnacle bag, and any comments on the bag in question that you'd care to share. I've been searching the threads and there's SO. MUCH. INFO. :panic:Also, would you consider buying this bag if it was lacking the tassel and the hang tag? Or would you pay more for one that has the complete set? I'm guessing that this was a retail bag if it's a pinnacle? TIA!

There was a line that was I supposed the equivalent to 1941 called Pinnacle. I think the adjective 'elevated' was also used for these higher price point bags. They were typically high quality materials, more details on the bags, like the lacing for example and the handle. This was from I believe the 2012 Legacy line, it is one of the more intricate duffles and it was boutique. I remember finding this very bag in an outlet and trying it on. It's a really nice bag in person. I'd be completely fine without the tassel, it is a large, stiff monstrosity that you could probably smack someone with if they pissed you off! That was one of the turn offs when I tried it on if I remember correctly, the tassel was much larger than the other Legacy items from that collection .

Ah, thanks, I'm not a huge fan of large tassels myself. I was looking at one that was fairly reasonably priced but it was missing both the tassel AND the hang tag, which I would have liked to have although I'm not 100% sure if I care that much.

This might be a heavy bag. I don't know if the leather is better than regular Legacy duffles. I love my duffles but the color on them is only on the surface so they can show corner wear easily. I've found that these bags with the extra large tassels tend to fall over on the tassel side. I bought a different duffle (dragonfly duffle) with an extra large tassel, and even though I liked the way the tassel looked, it just made it too heavy and unbalanced. I ended up returning anyway because it was still too heavy.

I'm OK with heavy bags (I think I saw a photo of the dragonfly one? Pretty bag). I'm wondering though how comfy that strap would be. But I like the look of the bag overall. I have two of the new duffles, one smooth and one pebbled, but am starting to wonder if maybe I should just look for the older bags, the leather looks so nice on quite a few of the ones I've come across. I haven't even taken the tag off of my smooth duffle yet .

If you don't mind heavy and you want the best leather, you might want to look at vintage.

I have so much to learn about Coach. I've been looking at the legacy bags, not sure what keywords to use to pull up vintage Coach and what exactly to look for. I need to spend more time on the threads...but yeah, the price point for the most part makes it a very attractive thing to hunt up.

Legacy is a word Coach used in style names many times. It generally means the style has some elements of older styles. Some sellers will use the word just to get views. There were two major Legacy collections - 2006 and 2012. The 2006 collection had better leather than the 2012, and had heavy brass hardware. The 2012 styles were simpler. Their main selling point was all the beautiful saturated colors. There were also earlier bags from around 20 years ago that had Legacy in the name.

I think you would like vintage but a large percentage of the styles are small. There are still some big bags I think you would like. Some of the common styles are fairly cheap but there are some popular styles that sell for more, and the bigger bags tend to be more popular. Coach vintage leather is wonderful in that the leather isn't over-processed and the dyes go all the way through the leather. They last forever.

You could look through the reference library to see if there are styles you might like.

The strap on the Bohemian duffle looks uncomfortable to me.

Thanks, I'll spend some time in the reference library, I've done some looking but not nearly enough. The strap...I'd consider talking a chance for the right price, I think...wonder how wide it is? That would be the bigger issue for me, narrow shoulders.

My guess is the handle is 1 3/8 inches wide.

I remember this bag. It was very heavy. Pinnacle and Elevated were both terms that were used similar to the way "1941" has been used recently. It was a higher priced line than the regular line, with more details on the bags. It was definitely a boutique bag. There were Kristins, hobos, Carries, in the line (amongst other styles) so I would say around 2012ish date wise. It is just my preference, but I never buy a bag without all the "stuff" it's supposed to come with, even if I don't end up using that "stuff". For me it's about having the option to resell the bag if I want to at some point. (although I no longer resell my bags and tend to give them away these days :) )
