I believe everyone have their own coloring so even within Asians, there are those who suit light warm colors to deep cool colors! So its only useful to find your own coloring

For me, I take Jewel tones well and strictly NO Pastels!

I think most (with exceptions of course) Asians suit Spring colors - Bright, light warm colors. That's what I noticed ;)

i just buy what interests me and goes well with my wardrobe...
i think Asians can wear many colors beautifully...for myself...i am not interested in getting green or brown at the moment....but i still reckon it is really personal preference...

I'm half-Filipino and I have olive skin with a yellow undertone. I think jewel tones like fuchsia, mango/pumpkin orange, royal blue, turquoise and saturated greens work best with my skin so I usually gravitate towards those colors in my clothing and bags. Pastels, especially baby pink, wash me out in the worst way. :nogood:

I like GGH for color and flash but I love RH for the look and I think it compliments POP colors really well without being too loud.
work. :D

You are! well when I have a daughter then she will be like you..half-flip :D I'm full on pinoy but married to a while guy:D

As to type of hardware, I prefer the GGH - I feel that it complements my dark complexion.

i'm asian and funny thing is that i don't think i can pull off extremely bright colors, such as electric yellow. I don't see myself wearing any reds either, but I know a lot of Asians prefer the color. I'm also not sure how VT will suit my skin tone. But at the same time think I can pull off Rasin. I also purchase any handbag that suits my self, style, and wardrobe.

I'm Asian with medium skin tone and I just tend to gravitate toward neutrals. I'm a "winter" color person and my color palette reflects that as well (ie. Black, Grey, Brown, Dark Green, Navy, etc) Although, most people say Asians gravitate towards Red, I just can't carry that color. The only Red I see myself carrying would be Sanguine, because it has more Brown undertones and is not a real Red, KWIM? I don't do pastels at all, but do have a Dolma, Rouille and Paprika for a little splash of color and ironically, they complement my skin tone. I guess it really depends on the individual and their likes or dislikes. I purchase a bag because I like the color, not so much as to whether it'll match my skin tone. I just happen to prefer the darker, neutral colors......no muss, no fuss and they match with everything. Bals cost so much that I can't see spending $ on a seasonal bag......I'm going to carry them until they fall apart!:D

Hmm... Mich - it might look perfect on you! I would hardly care how orange looks on me if I really really really loved the color, but I maybe I just don't prefer orange at all? LOL.

I used to buy bags no matter what color (becaue I wanted the color) but then I started realizing that the bags purchased "just for color's sake" were never worn because they didn't go along with my stuff. I used to be less discriminating, but recently, I've found myself sticking with certain color hues.

Bottomline is and always will be: wear what you love and what makes you feel grand.

Ahh, Kamusta ka? :D
Sometimes when people ask what my nationality is I'll say "I'm half tiny Filipino lady, half Giant white guy." :lawl:

I feel you on GGH. Golds look GREAT with our skin tone. My mom has rich brown island skin as if she has been outside on the beach her whole life (which I bet you have too? Jealous!) and she likes to wear a lot of greens and reds. Her favorite color is red!

My skin is like a watered down version of hers with a little yellow so red can be a sketchy color sometimes. I do love my Sanguine clutch and have no problems pairing it with outfits.

I'm asian and yellow or green usually don't suit me well at all no matter how nice the colours are. Also, I prefer all my hardware to be silver and that is including jewelry too - white gold, platinum.

I think it's more of an individual preference. You can always offset your skin tone on what you wear so the focus is not between your skin tone and the bag.

i am eurasian and i think it's more about the color of the outfits, the tones i like than a skin tone issue. i love all the subtle colors, lilac, teal, violet, sanguine, black, grey and don't like the pop colors on me.

im quite light skinned asian..but loves the bronzer..lolol..and when in comes to bal. bags..i hav black(who doesnt? haha), 08 coral red, white wiggy and the 09 ciel

Wise words, RERE. I have the opposite problem - I tend to only buy bags which I think will suit me, and never buy a bag just for the colour. The result? Bags that are all brown, black or dark blue. Sigh!

I'm a mix of different types of Asian so I'm generally olive skinned but I could get quite fair in winter but tan very easily in summer with reddish undertones. I don't suit pastel colours. I can wear cool colours like black, grey, navy. I look washed out in certain colours like beige and browns but I can get away with other shades of brown. If I wear reds, greens or purples, they have to be muted versions of the colours. So I pick my bags based on the colours that complement my wardrobe which ultimately suits my skin tone - hence mostly neutrals.

I am 100% Chinese and I love many colour of Bal. I think the Asian skin tone do fit different colours. I own Pumpkin, Apple Green, Eggplant, Sapphire, Evergreen, Bouton D'or, Automne, Charbon and Anthracite but never with any Red. Even in the Chinese tradition, people used to love red but I have never dreaming myself carrying a red handbag. I am just not that into red !!!! I know many Bal fans love Bal's red very much but that's not me. LOL !!! And I love GH, SH and RH the same. My favourite colour is purple and I think Bal's purple is for everyone !!!
