I used to own the artsy empreinte in infini when the bag was first launched. It was sooo heavy that I eventually sold it. However, I recently purchased the artsy empreinte in earth and it is much lighter. My SA told me that they changed the empreinte artsy handle at some point and now it is lighter.

that's good to know. i brought it in Infini when it first launched too and sold it bc of the weight. did they change it after Earth? So all the new color is lighter?

I actually have the Empreinte Artsy in the color infini(Dark blue). To be completely honest with you, it is one of my favorite bags in my collection. Yes it is a little on the heavy side but it is nothing like what some people make it out to be. Maybe they are not used to all leather bags with hardware, which if that is the case is totally understandable. It is a little bit heavier than my Chanel GST. If you compare the empreinte Artsy to canvas, then yes you are going to notice a big difference in the weight. I carry my iPad air, MC cosmetic pouch, mini pochette, cles, 6 key holder, small wallet, cell, and charger/power plug for both iPad and cell. Even with all of these items, it is so comfortable on my shoulder. The strap is way more comfortable then that of canvas and without the break in time. Honestly, I say go to a boutique and ask to try it on. Really get a feel of the leather and the smell is absolutely A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! It is a bag that I will never take out of my collection. For me, I do not find it hard to get into at all. I have never heard anyone else say this about this bag. The corners on mine have held up good with no signs of wear. Just be careful when going through doors or brushing up against abrasive surfaces. I think this is how some people get wear on corners. Keep in mind I rotate my bags out every week.

Here are a couple of great youtube videos on this bag:

Great review! I have the Empreinte Artsy in Noir and it is definitely one of my go to bags.

You can't really compare empreinte to canvas for the reasons Pursegal22 stated. If I want lightweight and carefree for the day I do turn to canvas. But, if I want something soft and amazing, I grab my Artsy. I do carry a lot being a mother of two toddlers but I am careful to not fully pack the artsy. I have never had an issue getting into my purse to grab things. Yes, I do have to slide it down to the crook of my arm (that's how it's meant to be worn even though I carry it on my shoulders) to access things inside my purse or have to set it on top of something if I have to dig. But, that doesn't bother me. The strap is also very comfortable.

I have had my Artsy for over a year and the corners have held up well. The leather has softened just a tad. I was actually hoping for it to soften a lot more than it has so it would slouch more but I guess it's just really durable and holds its shape well.

Honestly, I'm not sure the exact date of when they changed it. I feel a dramatic difference between my new one and my old one though. The infini killed my shoulder. If you liked the style (and not the uncomfortableness) of the artsy you should try it again!

Hi, I've got a brown artsy emprente, got it over a year now. I love it! Put everything in and used it as my work bag. My only problem is that it has become more supple that the print 'emprente' give away a bit, so as not as pronounced as when I got it new. Also a more at the bottom than the top.

I brought it to LV store to which they advice that this is normal and expected.

Nevertheless, I love this bag [emoji173]️[emoji173]️[emoji173]️

I agree with others. I love my Artsy...probably one of my favorite bags. It is heavier than most, but well worth it in my opinion. It is harder to get into than, say, a NF or Delightful that is basically one large open space. Due to the 6 interior pockets of the Artsy, you do have to maneuver around a bit to get to the main space of the bag, but I don't find that overly difficult. I'm guessing that's what people mean when they say it's hard to get into. Mine is 4 years old and has worn and held up beautifully! But I am partial to the Empreinte!

I have the Artsy in monogram and empreinte ombre leather, I love love love the Artsy. It appears heavy when you first carry it before you break the handle in but I got use to it very quickly. I carry everything but the kitchen sink in my bag so its based on what you carry just how heavy it can be. I find myself going back to my monogram Artsy anytime I change bags after a couple of days. You definitely will not be disappointed with the purchase! Did I say how much I love my Artsy  The corners actually have faired pretty well for me, the leather one has slight fade but you have to be really inspecting the bag to notice.

I realize this is an old thread but thought I'd pop on and share my experience. I just got this one pre-owned in the ombre color. it's in great condition, especially for a pre-owned bag. So far I am liking it a lot!

I had previously purchased (also pre-owned) the artsy in monogram in the GM size and that was so huge I just didn't know what to do with it. And I even like big bags! So I sold that and looked for this one in nice shape at a fair price and finally found one.

I don't find it heavy at all. I had the Sofia Coppola suede and leather bags and they weighed considerably more. I like the simple yet substantial hardware. The built-in pockets make it easy to organize things. I know organizer inserts are available but honestly I don't think it's needed. The suggestion to try it in a store is a good one.

Same here, and was told the same thing by LV. There is a care booklet that comes with it that explains that the leather will soften over time...I think that's how they cover themselves with regard to the embossing fading a bit. I will add that my two Empreinte wallets have no change to the embossing over time...but bags rub up against the body while worn.

My Monogram and Empreinte Artsys have held up beautifully. Do watch the corners on the leather one , however, as they are easy to scuff. A little leather dye helps with that, though. If you compare ANY bag to an open tote like the Neverfull, it will seem harder to get into. I use a bag organizer to corral my stuff. The leather gets heavy, but the canvas has a less comfortable handle. This is my favorite LV bag of all time, so the little inconveniences aren't enough to put me off. :)
