It's a gossip thread. negative and positive comments are the go - why is that so hard to understand?
And you know what? I could tolerate Ariana just fine if she stopped pandering to pedo's with her image and copping an attitude fit for people who've been around longer and with a TON more talent and a bit more grace.
Mariah, Whitney, Aretha, Chaka Khan. Beyotches who earn the title diva, because they shade everyone with their talent.
Ariana may have a 4 Octave range - but her tone isn't all that and she couldn't even lick the boots of these other gals. In a sea of average she stands out because she can sing - but the comparisons to Mariah are just ...no.(and I'm not even that into Mariah, but seriously).
As with the other celebrity threads in this forum, anyone is welcome to express their opinions about the celebrity in question.
I agree with everything you've said.
Having an impressive range isn't enough. It's a tool; what matters is how you use it and while she can sing, her tone, elocution, performances etc are weak.
Instead of focussing on her craft she seems to prefer to throw shade and disrespect others.
There is NO comparison between her and Mariah because the only fault anybody could ever find with Mariah was that she sometimes showed off how good she was by hitting too many high notes. Hardly a comparable criticism

I've been getting a Pia Zadora vibe about this girl Petite and a look that may never really be 'adult' no matter how old she gets. She'll always look like a little girl. An entertainer with a core following, but who is generally panned by most. She may be doing Vegas when she's 40 but won't be known for much else.

Those pics at the start of the thread - she's dressing and acting very much younger than her age of 18, 19 in them. She looks like a 13 year old in them. They just add to my suspicion that she's creating a Lolita image
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Lots of people have a good range. Her tone is flat and she never enunciates. She sounds like she has peanut butter in her mouth to me. Even in that Bang Bang song, Jessie J blows her out of the water IMO.
Lol agreed. I feel like the more eye rolls she gets regarding her image, the higher the knee socks and ponytail goes. It's annoying.
So at my cousins house last weekend, her kids were watching music videos and Ms. Grande's new video came on, the song by Zedd I think its called 'break free'? Well lawd, all I could think was what fresh hell of a joke is this?! It was like a music video for a child made by Nickelodeon or some kids channel, featured in 'outer space' with aliens and crap, she had the same thick/heavy yellowish make-up on, same hair style but the roots of her actual hair looked grey/black, the outfits were the usual tacky like a child wearing sexy clothes, very uncomfortable and strange to watch.

I saw her perform on AGT or something like that and I couldn't believe how lackluster her performance was.
