Are WOCs (Wallet On Chains) a necessity?

Hi my fitness partner! It’s funny you should bring this up as I just posted about possibly selling my woc . I think I’d like to keep some sort of woc in my collection but I don’t know that it needs to be my Chanel one I currently have. I think for travel and when you want to be minimal it’s great. For me personally, I don’t reach for it much. So my verdict is yes, it’s nice to have a small bag like that in your collection IF you use it. Sorry my answer is kind of bag and forth as I’m trying to figure out what to do myself! :panic::wtf:

Hi, my fitness partner!! Same thing -- I'm contemplating on selling my WOC. :D Re: use, well I haven't used it yet, so maybe it's not that much useful for me. Hmn....

So, IMHO, a WOC is an optional choice item for those who love the look and travel very lightly.

I travel lightly but I do bring an umbrella most of the time. I originally bought the WOC for an event...I ended up not going to the event, but the WOC is still here. :D

It’s only a necessity if *you* need it. I personally use my woc all the time because I hardly carry anything. Usually my keys and phone are in my pocket and cards, cash and lipstick are in my woc. For me a designer tote is not a necessity, I have a longchamp pliage for uni and travel but I’d never choose a tote over a smaller bag if I were buying from, say, Chanel. If you don’t use your woc you should sell it, but you could buy an inexpensive woc just in case the need arises.

I like looking at them and I love trying them on at the boutique, but never felt the motivation to go out and physically buy one. I like small bags, but I find the majority of WOCs on the market to be too small. I shouldn’t have to struggle fitting my cellphone, keys, lipstick, and chapstick for any bag. For the limited capacity a WOC has, I’d rather be carrying a wristlet, which I do have and use frequently.

Plus there is something about seeing multiple card slots in a handbag that make me go crazy. I can’t.:no:

I love using them particularly when I go to a concert. Don't need much with me & definitely don't want to putting a bag on the floor where drinks get spilled. And can still get up & dance easily! Still gets a thorough check going through security; do they think I've performed some sort of charm like Hermione Granger and can fit the kitchen sink in there?!

Same. Agree on all points.

Agreed, if you have use for 1(or 2, as me:blush:).
Or if you wander away from clutches, after setting upon tables. And forget them.
(also me:blush::blush:)

Woc styles vary a lot--must find design to suit tastes.
I disiked chanel types, due to snap closures.
Chose mulberry(tree logo era) for leather type. And removeable chains--if chains might damage certain outfits/materials.

Also agree, handy crossbody under coats in sloppy weather. And when want minimal carry.
Not everyone needs this, either.
Personal choice.

Yes, they are totally necessary!

I absolutely love the WOCs! ❣️ They double as a fabulous, very secure and convenient wallet during the day and a lovely little handbag at night. Ms. Chanel basically invented the "hands free" handbags :) And WOCs are such a great testimony to that attitude!

I usually have a drink in one hand and some food in another ;) so evening clutches are out :) ;) That is where WOCs come in. Such fun!

They weight almost nothing, you can wear them crossbody or double up the decorative strap for a nice classic evening bag :) Always something that catches my attention in resorts/restaurants. There so many fun ways to style it!

I can easily put my iphone, lip gloss, personal "just in case" hygene items ;), credit cards, some cash and tissues into a WOC. What more do you need? ;) It's a perfect bag!

And if I travel, I take a bigger handbag and a WOC safely tucked inside it :) I have recently bought a mini Evelyn and if I am to be completely honest about it, ladies, go for the WOC :) You'll have lots of fun with it!

i do not feel them necessary, i prefer a clutch, so that I may fit other things likes keys, phone etc. I like clutches that have the option to wear as a wristlet or under the armpit/shoulder bag.

I recently bought two, and am still contemplating which one to keep. I might use the one with a removable strap as a wallet, and the other one fits my passport nicely so I'm thinking about giving it the honor of becoming my new go-to travel companion. If you don't have any use for a WOC then I don't see the point of getting one; the same goes for any type of bag, clothing or shoes (or anything else under the sun) - if you have no use for a specific type, don't buy it. It probably won't be the right choice for you.

I think so! I'm actually a big/medium bag person myself because I like carrying lots of things and just prefer the look of a bigger bag, but there are definitely times when I wish I had a cute WOC for certain times. Especially one with a removable chain so it can double as a clutch. I've had my eyes on this one for about a year, but I can't justify the price:
