Are the stock issues frustrating anyone else?

It seems that I cannot get anything I want nowadays because there’s never any stock, I want the white gold guilloche earrings and they never have them. It’s bizarre to me because before Christmas, WG guilloche never sold out and was always online but never the earrings. Why don’t they put effort into restocking earrings?
Hello, WG guilloche earrings? Good choice.

About two years ago, I got frustrated with their stock shortage and started choosing the items I had doubts about. I chose frivole small polish earrings and carnelian 5 motif and later found faults with them because the frivoles got scratches, didn't feel comfortable wearing them while the carnelian 5 motif was not my first choice, I was waiting for TE. Therefore, I returned both items. I learned my lessons and never rushed again.

I took my time and finally got the TE 5 motif in the desired patterns. Nowadays, I plan my presents a few months ahead so I have enough time to choose in terms of the colour of the stones and quality of the stones. I am happier with each purchase and I keep my purchases as there's no buyer's remorse.

I understand how frustrating it is to wait for the items but what comes with waiting is the satisfaction and the quality of the items.

I have some VCA on my wish list but don’t own anything yet… not sure I’m qualified to answer. But, as a luxury shopper, it seems relatively “normal”
When we walk into Cartier, Chanel, Bulgari, etc… my size and preferences aren’t typically in abundance. I’m not really frustrated as I don’t really want them to be in abundance lol
If we’re intending to purchase, DH communicates ahead of time so there’s little disappointment.
The holidays are understandably different… JMO

It sucks because I’ve been requesting this item since the beginning of October and Theres still nothing besides “just place an order”. One time they had it and my SA took his lovely time and it ended up getting sold to someone else

I think not getting something in stock for months is a bit much, sometimes they say they haven’t seen a particular item in years and it’s like… what’s the point of even saying the item exists?

I agree with you, and I think it's worse here in Canada. I have not seen the POG (in a S) available online since mid 2023. And when I called to order in May I was told it wasn't actually available. The SA in Vancouver commented it's been "years" for some items. The same was said to my husband in a Vegas boutique. I don't find this to be a problem at all with Cartier, some items may be out of stock but they always become available after a short time. For this reason I have enjoyed Cartier so much more and still do not own any VCA. Perhaps they try harder for existing customers, they do not seem very interested in new ones. I should add that I was told I could order a particular Frivole item, but it's not allowed for the POG.

I guess my expectations differ, all good!

Not every bag I want is plentiful at Chanel and the Cartier Etincelle is so scarce… I love that they’re not just churning them out by the hundreds or thousands.
I hope you get whatever you’re seeking!

What I find very difficult, as I am new to buying jewellery at VCA, is with the limited stock it’s so difficult to try the different stones (Alhambra) to see what suits best. I would love the option to try as many as the different stones, all gold, pave etc at the same time, so I can compare and contrast, and then make my decision as to what I like the most on me.

Recently I’ve found that there may be only one or maximum two colour options, and only one piece of each available. If you don’t make an instant decision then and there, there’s another SA hovering waiting to whip the item away to sell it to their client at another table!

You have brought up a very good point. We need to try on pieces in order to decide whether they should be on our wish list. Every time I visit vca boutique, I try on as many pieces as possible to decide if the pieces suit me or not, if yes, they would remain on the list.

I often envision myself in my 60s onward and see if I would still be able to carry that piece in terms of weight, colour and size and the convenience of wearing them. I guess my choice in clothing helps me make better jewellery decisions because about 70% of my clothes are at least 5 years old and they are still got worn very often. Some last for more than 10 years. That's how I know my likes and dislikes in fashion and jewellery.

Nowadays, the FOMO doesn't work on me. And I know that vca pieces are Not difficult to make. I still like them because I like their designs and the quality of their stones.

If I desperately want to reward myself, I might just think about what other ways to do so instead of just turning to material items. The reward method can be a nice dinner with family members at a nice restaurant, a short trip or long trip holidays, a relaxing spa, a quiet afternoon at museums or galleries. The list is endless.

Besides, there are other options other than vca, and luckily I am not a celebrity, I am ok with wearing the same pieces again and again and just mix and match them to create something 'new'.

The FOMO doesn't work on me either, they have been attempting to sell the fleurette earrings to me and I straight up told the SA they look like they're from Kays, which they do. I wear the same jewelry daily, my perlee bangle set, but I want earrings. Basically my goal right now is to have daily bracelets, earrings and a ring.

Maybe every boutique is different. My SA doesn't try to sell me the items that I don't want.

Hope you can get some items you want in year 2024.

I'm having a hard time finding earrings, too. I am only buying rose gold and there is nothing to try on at my boutique except for the fleurette earrings and they are way too generic. I'm also trying to get daily wear items to go with my pendants.

Luxury shopping is a pain these days lol! My neimans SA told me it was a six month wait for the ten motif gold Guilloche necklace with a 100% deposit. I decided to email my SA in Paris this week and I’m getting it in February! I definitely won’t be saving any money but I get a trip and the necklace much sooner!

Earrings in particular have seemed to be the least available for whatever reason. Unless you just get lucky when something comes in, there isn't much to try on in the boutique. For most earrings, it seems that you have to put down a deposit to try them on.

A friend actually tried some earrings on with a resale/consignment shop recently so that she could make sure she liked them before ordering them from her SA since they hadn't had these particular earrings in the boutique for a while, but the consignment shop happened to have a pair!
